It all depends on how much he wants and for how many years. He might be traded or might finish his career here. It really is to early to tell.

id say it depends on how this new team with the addition of AB will play together.

depends on how much Lamar wants. 10 mil or less per year? than yes he would probably be resigned. more than i don't think so.

Assuming Lamar fits in well with Bynum/Gasol, how much can we afford to pay him?

Let's bear in mind Lamar will be 29 years old.

The marker has gone down some in a way, if he takes 4-5 years and 40-50 million then sure but if he wants the max or something crazy close then no.

The Lakers can't offer him much more than a MLE contract when Gasol and Kobe alone will take up 36-40 mil of capspace. Even though Odom's value may have dropped he can definitely find a better deal elsewhere, which is why I am certain he will be gone by this year.

If he stays or goes, I just do not want to loose him for nothing. 29 is still young and he is in great shape.

I dont think anything can save Odom... Unless he can magically give us something like 18 and 10 this year... Remember, we let Glen Rice walk after he had a solid season AND we won the championship in 2000... If Odom only gives us 13-14 points 8-10 rebounds then he will not be brought back because Luke and Ariza could easily duplicate those numbers if they are given the full SF rotation

We are already over the cap next season even without Bynum's extension... An Odom extension would put us DEEP into the luxury tax.. Keep in mind Kobe can opt out as well... I just dont see it happening

And 10 mil for a 4th option is dammmn expensive if you ask me... Regardless, he averaged 14 and 10 as a 3rd option, so chances are his numbers go down as a 4th option

so if lamar averaged 14 and 10 as a first option, he deserves 10 mil?..whats the difference if he was a 4th option?

the difference is there are 3 people on the team making more money than him.... If Lamar Odom is your first option then you are probably not in the luxury tax... If Lamar Odom is your 4th option you are DEEP into the luxury tax

Mitch should offer between 8.5 and 10 mil for 4 years, he can take it or leave it.
