4 years ago we lost 3 games and came away with the bronze, this year we're winning by 32.2 ppg (3rd best olympics ever) and people are actually complaining about Coach K?

And did someone seriously suggest Paul Silas at a good replacement for Coach K?

Look at the other side of the court. We've allowed 124 made baskets while forcing 113 turnovers and blocking 24 shots. That's 137 possessions our opponents had where they had no chance at all of scoring vs their 124 made shots.

On the offensive end, we're averaging 103 ppg in 40 minute games.

Compare all of that to 4 years ago when Larry Brown tried to put in the sort of structured offense people are asking for in this thread. We averaged 88.1 ppg, lost 3 games, only beat 1 team by more than 20 points (angola) and thought an 8 point win over Lithuania in the bronze medal game was "its most inspired game from start to end".

No team has come within 20 points of us thus are in the olympics and it's not going to happen in the medal round either. If anything, we're going to push our average margin of victory higher over the next 3 games.

USA cannot play structured offense - this type of O needs more time to master and the NBA players dont have the time to train it to perfection and if you put slow-paced O thats not drilled into perfection its a disaster.
USofA may run s-p O if they create a team out of D-league, CBA, Free agent guys, sign them for the Olympic circle and train them every single day.

I can't say I blame him, teaching Kobe team basketball is no piece of cake.
