Who will win rookie of the year in 2008-2009?

Of the listed options, I'll take Rose, with Gordon as a dark horse. Though he wasn't listed as a choice, I think Love could have a shot as well. ROY tends to be heavily stat dependent, and Love is in a situation where he could put up inflated numbers.

EDIT: oops, forgot Oden was eleigible. I'll stick with Rose/Gordon of the listed choices, but go from Love to Oden for my overall ROY pick.

I agree about Love. I think he's going to be great from the start, so he's my early favorite to win the ROY. Oden and Beasley will get strong considerations because their teams will compete for a PO spot. If Portland explodes, I expect Oden to get more media love than anyone in this rookie class. I think Rose may be a bit overrated and will take some time to get acclimated to the league, sort of like how it took Billups forever to develop into the PG he is today. Chicago really needed Love and I think they blew it by taking Rose.

Love or Oden, but I'll go with Oden because of how much hype there is (was) with him. Love will have a better season and be more "deserving" however.

Can there be co-ROY, Jerryd Bayless and Greg Oden, from the same team? If not, I'm sticking with my choice of Greg Oden. Hey, I say he pulls a Zydrunas Ilgauskas (he missed playing in his first season too). He didn't win ROY but he'd won MVP honor of the Rookie game and made All-Rookie first team.

I hope Oden is good since Ilgauskas, Ming and Camby are the only centers in the league I like. And point guard and center are my two favorite positions to watch play.
