TI: BULLS/Suns/OKC

Post#1 » by NashtyNas » Tue Aug 19, 2008 9:29 am

So, someone on this board came up with Diaw for Ben Gordon, and I thought of a better idea which I feel helps both teams. You guys are going to try to run as much as possible, and with the lack of bigs you guys have, I think this trade really helps you depth wise. Helps OKC continue their youth movement with Ty Thomas. Obviously a good deal for the Suns.

Bulls outgoing:

Tyrus Thomas
Cedric Simmons
Ben Gordon (S&T 5yr/50mil)

Bulls incoming:
Leandro Barbosa
Boris Diaw
Alando Tucker
Suns 2011 Second Rounder

Suns outgoing:
Leandro Barbosa
Boris Diaw
Alando Tucker
2011 Second Round Pick
2012 First Round pick

Suns incoming:
Ben Gordon
Chris Wilcox

OKC outgoing:
Chris Wilcox

OKC incoming:
Tyrus Thomas
Cedric Simmons
Suns 2012 First Rounder

Sun's lose a lot of depth and would need to sign another vet min player, but I think this works out for all teams. THOUGHTS?

No offense, but this trade feels like we're the middleman required for an OKC-Bulls trade. As you mentioned we lose a lot of depth and to give away 2012 1st and 2011 2nd seems like a bit of a stretch. If we are going to rebuild starting 2010, shouldn't we hold on to our picks? Oh, and we have to sign another decent vet min player as well, which as you know is in low supply at the moment.

This trade is great for the Bulls, they lose a low bball IQ guy, a guy who don't wanna be there and a scrub. Incoming they have a Ben Gordon on an awesome contract and without the problems, a decent point forward who can rebound, assist and score (when in form), Tucker and a pick.

For OKC, they lose Wilcox, who doesn't look to be part of their future anyway, and in return, they get two young guys, on relatively modest contracts which are only guaranteed till the end of this season and also a nice first rounder.

Sure we get rid of Diaw's nasty contract but we're going to be getting back a contract even bigger than Diaw's in Gordon. Only good thing I see from this trade is we get Wilcox, who would be a very good backup to Amare, and with his contract expiring, he'll be a hired gun.

I feel we get rid of something bad but gain something even worse in this trade.

So we trade Barbs, a better player with more potential at a far more reasonable contract, for Gordon at $10m/ season? Awful.

So for an average, albeit expiring veteran, OKC lands a young, promising lotttery pick, another young cheap player AND a first rounder? Let's throw in Amare while we're at it, hey? :nonono:

TBH most of your logic is incoherent, and you try to validate it with gibberish. So my thoughts are that the trade is terrible, the suns get worked and OKC makes out like bandits.

nice take nevetsov. I agree, we take back basiclly the same player in barbosa/gorden, and a horrible price. If your going to complain about Diaw, just wait till a 6-1 SG is getting killed by other teams. Yah, he can score, but that dude does not pass.

You have to have a big SG who can handle the ball. This is where JJ would have been a great idea.

I say pass on these bad trade ideas. I rather keep barbosa.

Oh, plus we give away more draft picks?????? damn, no way. I like what Kerr is doing, go for it now, and then rebuild in 2010.

Where have I stated that this helps us depth wise? Because you got offense, i'll get offensive. You're an idiot that cannot read if you claim that I said we gain depth from this. There. Also, we could always take out one or both the picks or make the 1st a second and what not. It's just a thought for the dog days for the summer. I myself posted on another thread saying I'd keep Barbosa over Ben any day, but if it helps us dump the useless Diaw, atleast Gordon and Wilcox will produce. Man, you are an a**

Gordon is turning down $59 million for 6 years. If you sign & trade him, you must agree to pay him more than $10 million a year. He has publically stated he will sign for no less than $70 million for 6 years.

No way would I include that pick. 2012 we're blowing it up, Ben gordon is not our future. Diaw for Wilcox + Filler straightup maybe.

what if we trade Boris Diaw and Alndo Tucker and a secound rounder to the Bulls for Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons. Trade id# 4757228

The Suns lose the play making ability of Diaw but gain the rebouding and toughness of Drew Gooden. This trade will increase the role for Matt Barnes and Grant Hill in the SF position. According to Hoopshype Simmons is a defensive and rebounding specialist. We get bigger and we lose the flexibility with having Diaw.

Personally, I wouldn't do this trade, I truly beleive that Diaw is going to excel this upcoming year. What I been told is that he going to start in the front court with Shaq and Amare. Our bench would consist of Barbosa, Hill,Barnes, Lopes and Dragic.

ok few point's to make

#1 gordon is a better player then barb's i dont know where u all get off saying he isnt he was the leading score on the bull's while being the main focus of teams double team's barb's would never put those kind of number's up being double teamed.
#2 gordon is some one u can build with for the future the guy is only 24
#3 gordon is a way better player then diaw and if we could get him around the same as diaw i say do it
#4 whats this talk about diaw being a playmaker what play's the guy cant do much of anything on the court
#5 ten to one hill start's and diaw sit's hill's the better player
#6 if gordon wants more then 9-10 mill year i say dont do it he good could be gret but hasnyt shown enough yet to get more then 10 mill max

Gordon is more talented than Barbosa I reckon. But when you compare each player's production per dollar, Barbosa is no doubt better. Gordon wants $10 mil+ which is ridiculous.

If I was GM i wouldn't build a team around Gordon. He's no Kobe and can't carry a team with pure scoring.

You can't compare Gordon to Diaw, they are completely different players. It's like comparing Yao Ming to Kobe. Diaw isn't a Nash type play maker but he can create plays with his moves because he can draw defenders when he posts up.

I personally would like to see Hill come off the bench.

Don't know what teams would give Gordon $10m+ a year, but Phoenix is one team that won't.

If you took out OKC and did a straight up Tyrus/Simmons/Gordon for Diaw/Barbosa/Tucker, I might consider it for a while, and then probably decline, b/c Tyrus hasn't done anything, and Gordon is effing expensive.

You've got to be ****ing kidding me. How does this even manifest itself as a thought, let alone make its way to a website and typed out.

This thread has brought rage upon my pleasant morning.
