Things we learned about China:

1.) We still have problems getting Yao the ball.
2.) The high p&r is the play which we cannot guard. Our guards cannot handle the physical contact and fight over the screens, Yao cannot come out and challenge the shot, and our guys are slow and don't hustle defensively so our rotations are not there.
3.) Yao, at 80% or so, is still a dominant player in FIBA.
4.) Yi needs to improve his defense and rebounding. Wang Zhizhi is unsalvageable in those areas.
5.) It goes without saying we need improved guard play. Sun Yue could be good at SG, but we need a new PG, or if we want to move Sun to PG we need a new SG, because Wang Shipeng is an awful player. Zhu Fangyu is decent and can stay, but the two guard positions need work.

Things we learned about Lithuania:

1.) They run off EVERYTHING. They play like the Suns used to (or it's more proper to say that the Suns emulate their style).
2.) They can really shoot, and if they put Kleiza at PF they can really spread the floor.
3.) They are very physical on defense, and sometimes that results in a lot of fouls.
4.) Sarunas Jasikevicius is a great player in international ball.

javtokas did a tremendous job on yao ming limiting his offense and boxing out down low for rebounds, dude even set up alot of PNR for the guards to shoot the 3 or penetrate.....

Lithuania played great and deserved the win, but i think that the referees helped them with the non-calls on their big guys. Yao was fouled almost in every possession.

What china really needs is just PG that can play and thrive being under pressure. Chen is no such player, he rushes and hes even worse than liu wei and thats an accomplishment no one can do.
Yao will probably retire now from olympics, liu wei and Wang Zhi Zhi.
THat leaves us with a pool of yi and yue to really work on. Too bad that kid got cancer or he would be the protypic SF we have been looking for, can handle the ball and penetrate.
Imagine having guys like JJ Reddick and Alston for China, damn they would be good.
In NBA they suck but in China they are worth gold.

Ron ron on how commited he is to the team.

Random thought, but wasn't Joe Alexander born in China?

If he were, maybe that's the SF China is looking for :)
