lol, all ronny needed to get credit for his game was to leave the lakers. i remember when he was nothing but a cheerleader according to fans, now that he's on another team he was a valuable piece. as for ronny doing everything a lot better than josh, you probably haven't even watched them play.

Its not about Josh Powell being some impact player on the Lakers. Its about the difference between Josh Powell and Ronny Turiaf.

Josh Powell is a better shooter and rebounder and Ronny is a better athlete/shot bolcker.

If Josh can play with some conistency and using his tools that fit in the triangle then the difference of losing Ronny and getting Josh should not be that big of an impact.

Like it or not, the reality is that the Lakers improved their bench by adding Powell, despite not a major improvement. But an improvement nonetheless.

your laker hate is strong.

fact: Josh shoots the midrange and rebounds better than Ronny. Ronny plays more around the rim and is athletic and blocks the ball. I am a big Ronny fan, but the difference between the 2 overall is not that steep ..if at all.

this is why i hate realgm sometimes. you guys are arguing about ronny turiaf and josh powell. both suck, both make no difference, and the fact that you guys are actually comparing their singular aspects of the game is funny because its so damn stupid.

I completely agree, Lakers fans are underrating what Turiaf provided off the bench with his energy. I guess when you have that many talented bigs it is easy to underrated the guys you have.

I do think Powell is a good player, but I don't think he will do for the Lakers what Turiaf did on the defensive end which will hurt them.

And I think that the Wolves will be to the league this year what the Trailblazers were last year.

Very good young talent, Jefferson, Gomes, Love, Miller, Foye, Brewer. That's a lot of young explosiveness with nothing to lose. I wouldn't be surprised to see them win 38+ games.

I think that fact that you care so much about the subject is equally stupid. You dont have to reply to posts if you dont want to, yet you want to comment about them. I responded only in defense to those bringing it up and that is called a discussion.

Which is the point of realgm.. to discuss.

You have to also consider...if everything goes well this year health wise ( knock on wood) with Bynum back full time Gasol and Odom would man the 4. Ronny/Josh's playing time will be 10-15 minutes.

man, i hate to talk bad about ronny, but some of you are seriously overrating his on-court contributions to the lakers success.

1st round: 1.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg
2nd round: 2.2 ppg, 1.0 rpg
conf. finals: 2.4 ppg, 2.4 rpg
finals: 1.8 ppg, 0.7 rpg

Who cares about Josh Powell? The Clippers didn't. He was okay because we didn't have anybody to fill in for Brand when he was out but no team would give him extended minutes. He's just not a factor at all. And in that respect, Turiaf is better than Powell. At least he was a bench cheerleader.

Josh Powell does one thing better than Turiaf and that is rebound. AND THAT IS IT. Anyone saying otherwise is either a wishful-thinking-Laker-fan or just plain delusional.

Turiaf > Powell by leaps and bounds.

Very cute way to put it....

But no way in hell Hornets are better than the Jazz. They haven't proved it, and they keep getting blown out of stratosphere each time they play the Jazz.
