Post#1 » by YUNG CELTAHOLIC » Thu Aug 21, 2008 6:19 pm

IMO We have one of the worst looking jerseys in the league. Our team got the job done in the finals so why not win some more AND look good doing it? :) other teams that arnt so good are upgrading (except for the wolves wich was a downgrade) so why cant we

Nah. I like the classic look. Although I am a fan of the shamrock above the name. That was a nice little touch.

I'd rather stick with what we have, just because I'm more concerned with what the new jersey would prolly look like--- some tricked-out turbo leprechaun or somethin'. No thanks. Classic is better.

i see where you are going with this... we added a dance team, we can change the unis, then we can change the name, unretire all the numbers, move the team to seattle...

i like things that honor heritage and tradition. the future and present are important, but the past is what lead to where we are, and that is equally important.

i dont, however, have any objection to wearing one or both of our alternates a little more frequently. i like the green and black (makes me think of the atreides, any frank herbert fans?) and i like the "st patricks day" gold a lot. we could maybe have an alternate for our whites, something with more green? but i wouldnt want to replace the regular jerseys ever

If we change our jersey, it will have as much mystique and history as Oklahama City's.

No thanks.

I just wish we would get rid of the black ones and just wear the St. Patty's day ones more often.

A: The C's are a team steeped in tradition, and the same classic look is part of that.
B: Most new jerseys look like ass.

Phew. I was worried that I was going to be the only old man shaking his fist at the young folk.

Do NOT change our jerseys.

I think they're great! The black and green ones are probably one of the nicest in the league period!

This can not be said enough. As wrong headed as this original post is, 3rd jerseys are a reality. The Black on Green while not offensive are frankly weak. Those ND style gold lettered St. Paddys jerseys are the best 3rd jersey ever. I think those should become the primary alternate, Iove the BOSTON throw back roadies should be automatic and reverse those Black on Greens to Green on Black, they already actually make it.

Those are the extent of my comments on fashion (beach bum to work clothing aside), hopefully forever.

The classic Boston Celtics jerseys aren't just the best looking jerseys of all time, but they are a timeless and recognizable global brand. I like all of our alternate jerseys so far, but some things are just meant to last forever.

I see you're a new poster, and you must be rather young...we have HANDS DOWN the best uniforms in the league (except for the awful alternate jersey)...simple, timeless, and elegant. Our unis are to hoops what the Yankees and Red Sox are to baseball and what the Colts and Browns are to football...old school classic looking designs.

To change it would be a travesty and one of the STUPIDEST things the Celtics could ever do.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
