OT: Basketball Shoes

Post#1 » by MaxRider » Thu Aug 21, 2008 6:23 pm

after 1.5 years of Zoom Kobe I (playing basketball) and 1 year of Nike Air Force 25 (too heavy to play basketball with)
i finally decide to buy a new one and it's Nike Hyperdunk
the plastic thingy (flywire?) looks pretty ugly
but it wrap your feet really good
make sure you wear socks because the material on the tongue than scratch your feet
haven't play a game wearing it yet
but so far it seem pretty responsible
it's light and low to the ground like Zoom BB I

Image

black one definitely look better
i got this one because of the 08 on the tongue (08 Olympics)
Kobe version, Olympics version, Kobe Mamba version, McFly version are too expensive for me

Ehhh... not a fan of the looks, a bit plain. And what's the point of this post? You should've at least balled in them a couple of a times and given us a review. I play in Zoom BB I's right now and couldn't be happier with them.

just try to see if anyone played with them yet
cause they wont let me return them if i did (or i have to clean it up real good)
i was thinking exchange it for the black one
or maybe getting different opinion on other shoes
i got this because of hype

main problem i have with Zoom BB and Hyperdunk is it's hard to put them on

mine was the plain USA version (nothing special)
it looked stupid because of the clear plastic part
they use that to cut down the weight

a comfortable and light shoe can go a long way. Although you'll be surprised how hard it is to find a shoe like that.

Zoom BB feels really great when I put them on
for some reason i don't seem to like them

Hyperdunk has the similar feel when i first put them on
the shoes is really light (weight less than 13oz in size 11)
played in it for 2 hours last night
the plastic is a little hard (need time to break in)
later got soften a little (need more time)
but still give me some problem
better than huarache 2k5 which actually hurt my feet (the ankle strap part)

comfort: 7/10
the plastic part is a little hard hope it will soften soon
i think it would be better if i go down 1/2 size smaller (toe space is a little wide)
shoes sizing is bad for me
my right foot is a little bigger than my left
10 is perfect for my left but too small for my right
10.5 will be too wide for my left
i usually wear 2 pairs of socks of my left foot

traction is good
no problem yet
it's not making those "squeezing" noise like most basketball shoes made

Yeah the Zoom BB I's are kind of hard to put on as I have to unlace and loosen it quite a bit to get my foot in. Though you'd want to do that anyway to make sure its on good. I was thinking of getting the Zoom BB II's but they don't look as nice as the I's IMO.

For the Hyperdunks is the plastic stuff you're complaining about the flywire technology that are on the sides of the shoe? What kind of problems were you having with it? Felt stiff on cuts or something? If so that sucks because that is one of the innovations of the shoe in the first place.

Still I'm not feeling the look of any of the basic colorways. Only the all black looks decent. Some of the special editions are hot though. They are pretty cheap though for such a hyped Nike shoe.

Check out this thread for pics on a lot of the special editions: http://www.solecollector.com/forums/offical-nike-hyperdunk-t677143.html . The Hyperdunk Supreme Kobe PE looks pretty damn sick.

yeah, that flywire thing i was talking about
not stiff
it was doing some crap i can't describe
it's making stupid noise when i turn or bent that part (new shoes afterall)

yeah that Black Mamba version is sick
i tried the black one in store
maybe it's just me
the black one felt a little heavier

The best shoe I have ever had where the air uptempo ( see pic ) they are comfortable and they provide the ankle protection we all need. http://www.kicksonfire.com/wp-content/u ... ptempo.jpg

Jordan is overrated (i talking about the shoes here)
only those before 1990 are good
anything after that are just selling the name
that's why they are selling Retro Jordan because those are the good one

Yeah Max is right. The retro Jordans are the best. A lot of the "new" ones they've come out with since his retirement just don't compare.
