Oden VS Howard ??

Post#1 » by GOBlazers » Thu Aug 21, 2008 10:54 pm

Whos stronger? Blazer fans argued a little over who is stronger.

http://www.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=834149&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=15Both cities have their own biases, so I wouldn't be surprised if you all said Dwight can man handle Oden. Oden is 7' 285 lbs. Howard is 6'11" 265 (unless you've heard he's put on weight)

First off, I don't think Howard is that tall, even with shoes, but that's what espn lists him at. So at only an inch taller, Oden has 20 lbs on Dwight. Who's going to be pushing the other around down low?

Wait until Oden plays in an actual NBA game.

Lol, we've already discussed the height thing....... According to FIBA Howard is 6' 11.07"(probably in shoes). And last year Howard said he was playing @ 270........ As for who's stronger, i dont how we could even know that until we at least see GO play..... Unless of course you know there max bench press, leg press, etc etc...... nice sig btw, LMAO.

no way oden is 7"2 he looked shorter than Noah during the NCAA championship game... i say MAYBE 7"0 and i have heard reports about him putting on weight (muscle) too, but i will believe it all when i see the blazers tipoff... Not just Oden, but I hate when i hear "so and so is going to absolutely dominate blah blah blah" before they even set foot on a court. I understand your excitement for greg, and i am happy for you guys to... stick it to those powerhouses in the west, but like i said, i am skeptical about anything sports-related until it can be proven, so for now, you can't really make that call

The real question is, does Oden break his next body part pushing Dwight or getting pushed by Dwight? Or does it happen when he steps off the bus?

these threads are SO stupid, the people who come up with some of this crap and who argue baseless info should be nailed in the face with a 2x4...

Dwight is 6'11 period, he weighs 272lbs and reps 300lbs on the press, this from Orlando Magic training staff NOT ESPN or fanboys...unless you can sit in a room and watch the two workout side by side, there is no way to know who is actually "stronger" in terms of weight training, and if you claim otherwise you're just plain silly...If we're talking who's stronger in the post, well that's Dwight easily. Dwight has already adapted his body and play to the NBA, he's got 4 years on Oden in this department, Oden hasn't stepped on the court and has not been able to make corrections to specified areas, he's only been primed by NBA trainers, noting has been suited at this time...

if you asked me to put money on it, I say that Dwight pushes Oden all over the place if they played today...I'll accept otherwise if I see it with my own two eyes, but until then, no sir, I'll go with the proven monster, instead of the storied monster...

if you honestly think that you can legitimately argue that Oden is without a doubt stronger than Howard (or anyone) without watching Oden do ANYTHING in the NBA and not have reservations about it, you are out of your effing mind, clinically insane, point blank period...and if Nate McMillan said Oden is stronger, well then Nate McMillan is a liar...being totally exited about your player and wanting him to be the tallest, most unmovable, totally dominate with one finger megaton beast of all time is understandable...but c'mon...

7'2"? lol, the legend of Oden continues...

Dwight not stronger than Joel Przybilla? lol

P.S. I weigh just a hair over 230lbs right this moment which is clearly less than Oden's supposed 280lbs, and I can throw up over 420lbs on the standard bench...I bet my house that Oden cannot do that, explain that one...weight doesn't have jack to do with strength..

Sounds like Sam Bowie.

Who said Oden's 7'2", he's 7 foot

Muscle weighs a lot. I also bet Oden is taller than you, maybe by a foot

of all the things you can pick out in my post...wow...

idk, someone above said 7'2" I ran with it...Muscle weighs a lot? how poignant, read that in a book somewhere? There is no doubt that Oden is taller than me, but not by a foot, an inch or 2 at the most, I myself am 7' in big enough shoes...

i could swear that you originally posted 7"2 and then changed it when you realized it was rediculous... You said it. I also saw another thread you guys had over there on the blazers forum... Oden will be "Bill Russel, Dwight Howard, Shaq, Dennis Rodman all rolled into one"... LMFAO hahahahaha The guy just had a major surgery, missed a whole season, and is yet to play one second in the NBA... i can think of other big guys that did nothing in thier careers... George Meuresan, Mike Bradley... dude, you guys are a LITTLE too optimistic about Oden's progression to say the least....

for everyone else here... here's the thread link to the "Bill Russel, Dwight Howard, Shaq, Dennis Rodman" of our generation..... have a GREAT laugh...

I know this is coming from Oden's teammate but Channing Frye has been working out with Oden for the past couple of weeks and he said no question Oden is the strongest guys hes gone against in his 4 year career, I know he may be a bit biased but I don't think he would say something that big and not honestly mean it, also I'd have to say I believe an actual NBA players opinions over any of us. Whatever the case is Howard is an absolute freak and one of the strongest (if not the strongest) players in the NBA I can't wait to see the Oden Howard match ups in the future it should be fun. Good luck next season the Magic should be fun to watch and a top 3 team in the East.
