The smart bet right now is 25-35 however just as I said before we have plenty of young talent to surprise the league Philly style and win around 41 games.

Re: The Nets record for 2008-2009
With all the improvements in the east, I don't think we got a shot at the 8 seed in any capacity. The Hawks had Bibby/JJ/Marvin/Josh/Horford with Childress off the bench. That top 6 trounces our top 6 any day of the week unless we can get some stability at the 3, 4 and 5 spots. Here are the playoff teams this year in my opinion:
Boston
Toronto
Detroit
Cleveland
Washington
Philadelphia
Magic
Milwaukee/Atlanta
I say we will probably be between 9-12 in the East in my opinion. If we can notch 35 wins, I'm going to say this year was a success. Anything more than that and I actually may brag a little about our future lol. Anything less and I wouldn't be surprised and hope the ping pong balls bounce our way so we can hopefully draft a franchise shooting guard.

I do not see the Bucks in the playoffs. I don't even think the Bucks are much better than the Nets.

Bucks and Atlanta are still better than us. You know what you're gonna get from RJ/Redd/Bogut every night. For us, you only know what Vince is gonna get. If he doesn't show up, we have NO CLUE who is gonna put up the points for us. I wouldn't be surprised if they sweep us this season. As of this morning, there is no way in hell we are an 8 seed.

Re: The Nets record for 2008-2009
I think you guys will win 30-33 games. Not as bad as people believe.
The main reason is that you got guys that Frank likes. Dooling, Simmons, and Najera are good defenders that will scarp a few wins here and there.
I think you will see these guys play tonnes of minutes. Look for Dooling to play SG while Vince plays SF and Najera plays PF.
Not sure if this is what the Net fans want since some of you would want to have a chance to get a higher lottery pick.

Re: The Nets record for 2008-2009
Eh 33 wins still puts us in the thick of things for a top 3 pick. I personally can see us struggling significantly to start the season then once we're all set, we have the potential to make a run late in the year like Philly did 2 seasons ago (they missed the playoffs and landed Thaddeus Young). I'm hoping for a top 5 pick next year, but if we have at least 2 of our young guys show they can potentially be a star in this league yet we still are in the lottery, I'll be completely happy with this upcoming season.

You forgot Miami. Have you seen Wade this summer? I think people are really underestimating Miami.
Boston
Toronto
Detroit
Magic
Cleveland
Washington
Philadelphia
Miami
Outside looking in:
Milwaukee
Atlanta
Nets
Chicago
Charlotte
Indiana
New York
I have been very for 2010 getting Lebron, but Wade is starting to make me change my mind.
A little bit.

Re: The Nets record for 2008-2009
You're right a nucleus of Wade/Beasley/Marion is pretty solid. It all depends on Beasley and if he can stay consistant. If he can, they got a shot at the playoffs. if not, they'll be probably the 9-11 seed. I can't see them getting higher than the 8th. There is just no way in hell WE make the playoffs and I'm completely fine with that. I was getting tired of our organization talking about us like we were something we weren't (aka a contender) for the past few years.

I'll be happy with 30+ wins. As long as were not bottom of the Atlantic.

Re: The Nets record for 2008-2009
^^^^ Haha I can agree with that. I'm expecting between 25 and 35 wins. If we hit anywhere between that then I'm happy. That and as long as we finish better than the Knicks I'm happy. I'm a little scared though. D'Antoni is all offense and no defense, which is how 90% of that roster is. Because the players and coaches have similar mind sets, they may execute better and pull off some wins. I'm not gonna cry if we finish at the bottom of the Atlantic (better chance for a stud lottery pick), but NOBODY wants to be worse than the Knicks.
