You can't really blame him on the pass though since the guard just passed it like a cannon...
How about the key block and rebounds by him near the end of the game? Don't just mention the bad people...he has been the best player of Spain throughout the tournament.

He's overrated and he always dissapear when his team needs him. Did you see the European Championship final last year? We lost 59-60. 3/12 FG, 5/12 on FT, 5 TO... And it was worse than the numbers suggest. I mean, if you're a Lakers fany ou have suffered him on the Finals.

Nah, those Spaniards are darned good floppers. Pau actually got a foul called on the other team because he fell when pushing the other player.

He did that the whole game. Thats why Lithuania was called for 11 more fouls. And despite all that, they only won by 5. Lithuania played great basketball... they just couldn't overcome the flopping.

Maybe the fact that Lithuania fouled the whole last minute to stop the clock has something to do with that? Or the fact that Lithuania tried to stop the Spanish transition game with fouls?

If Lithuania kept hitting threes against the 4th quarter zone, Spain is history. This was the key.

Spain won because they were the better team. It had nothing to do with the refs.

Lithuania deserves their lose for turnovers, inability to play against the zone in 4th and dubious personal decisions - whats the purpose of bringing Maciulis and D.Lavrinovic while never letting them play (I suppose it was miscalculated term of recovery from the injuries). Although they played well and could advance with proper refereeing.
Spain fully deserves that spanking they'll get this Sunday. USA by 40.

Even with Jose out, Spain isn't freaking Australia. By 40? I want what you're smoking.

They gave us a 37 piece McNugget. I wouldn't be surprised to hit the 40 point plateau. If we were playing like a team, like we did back in '06, there's no way they stamp such a blowout on us. But playing one on one, individual basketball, USA is going to crush us.

M.Balla wrote:Pau Gasoft is a piece of s**t and a c**t. You can NEVER count on him on an important match. He's a turnover machine, a failed layup waiting to happen and his man is ALWAYS open. I guess LA fans learned it the hard way on the Finals...

His defense against Boozer and KG was pretty good. He really shouldn't be playing center though. I always wondered why the Grizz started Darko at center instead of playing an extra wing-player (Warrick) but now it's pretty clear. Pau's pretty soft and is MUCH better against PF's.

He is a turnover machine though.

I can't believe how bad Spain's coach is...WTF is this guy doing out there; there is no rotation, it's just one giant clusterf*ck.

Rubio is a great looking prospect, but he has no offensive game at all. I realize he is young, but comparing his to Pistol Pete is insulting considering his scoring ability at this time.

p.s. what happened to Juan Carlos? He looks atrocious out there.

Well, the comparison to Pistol Pete is probably due to his play against competition of his or close to his age where he is able to score basically at will. On professional level, I think Jason Kidd is probably the closest comparison...

we better watch out, Gasol is gonna have a field day against our no interior D.

If Calderon doesn't play that helps us as I don't htink Rubio or their other PG can handle the pressure for too long.

Nope. USA wins easily by +30. The spanish basketball honeymoon is over. This will be the last final for us for the foreseable future.

Agreed, Kidd is a much better comparison.
