Huge relief. Nothing pissed me off more than the ignorant NBA bashing since the '02 World Championships. Us not winning had little to do with "lost fundamentals", "lack of effort" or "poor attitude". We weren't winning because 1) The world has come a LONG way and 2) We sent(or were forced to) our C grade teams. That too with 2 weeks worth of practice time. Little surprise we couldn't win. This was the first 'great' team we sent in a long time that had also been playing together for a while. It has a nice blend of superstars and glue guys and LORD knows we needed every bit of those resources to win GOLD. I hope the fight we were given in these final 2 games opens the ignorant ones' eyes over how far the world has come along since 1992. It isn't simply a matter of "effort" or "attitude" anymore. Sure, those things are VERY Important but if you don't have abundance of talent, there will ALWAYS be a huge possibility of an upset.

They now have a total of 10 more medals then the Chinese right?

(OT: Why do American websites put the team with the most medals first while every other website puts the team with the most Gold medals first?)

Because every other website is not American. Olympics always values a gold medal higher than anything else, so 51>37 (gold medals)

Because the IOC standard and official (Gold first) way to count medals put US second.
