Congrats to Team USA, Dwight and all Americans. Great competitive game. Spain played so well. And yea Kobe stupidly gambled and hung out Dwight on that Rudy slam lol. He got some cheap fouls called on him too. Team USA didnt play the greatest defense today but they did enough. Congrats.

Can you really say though that Howard got dunked on? Wasn't it more his arm got dunked on..plus getting dunked on is like Carter over Weis Davis on Kirilenko Ariza on Ben Wallace Kobe on Nash that's getting dunked on

LOL he got dunked on. Shot blockers get posterized from time to time, it happens but if Kobe wouldnt have played such poor defense it would have not happend though.

He got posterized to the extent that you could probably put Fernandez's dunk over Dwight on a poster. D12 himself made very little contact with Fernandez though--like someone said, "his arm got dunked on."

Up at 5 am again. Sucks.

easily the most entertaining gold medal game in my lifetime, despite the irritating FIBA refs.

Upon further review i guess Howard did get dunked on in a way. But why would anyone who is a Orlando fan post that video clip? and i blame Kobe cause Fernandez went right by him and then Howard went to go pick him up and look what happens... good job Kobe " The Garden Snake " Bryant

As a Rudy fan I was ecstatic to see that dunk. Dwight shouldn't be embarrassed though, Rudy has insane hops and Kobe did a really lackluster job of guarding Rudy tonight. Props to Howard for at least attempting the block, most guys would have been too worried about how they would look knowing there was a slim chance to block it.

I agree, it wasn't that bad. Rudy had a clear lane to the basket and then Dwight came to block him but just couldn't reach it.

I thought the dunk itself wasn't that special, but because it was probably unexpected to a lot (personally I knew Rudy could dunk very well though) and it was an underdog against a mastodont it attracts a lot of attention. That, as well as it being a key moment in the game.

I thought Rudy looked amazing the whole game though, what a steal for the Blazers getting him for cash last year. Ricky Rubio surprised me too, scary thought that a 17 year old is leading this Spanish team from the most important position on the floor in the gold medal game and is doing this well against some of the best players in the world. If he fixes his shooting mechanics he'll be one of the best point guards in the league in a few years.

I thought Dwyane Wade was flat out amazing these whole Olympics too, by the way. If I had to hand out an MVP trophy, I'm pretty sure I'd give it to him. Miami back in the playoffs next year, anyone? Would be fun if the Magic would get to match up against them.

Overall I was just gratefull for getting to watch such a high caliber game, I thought the whole match was just amazing. USA deserved the gold medal, but much respect to the Spaniards too, what a great team they have, with the emphasis on team. The USA were clearly better overall, but Spain can definitely teach them a thing or two when it comes to executing plays, particularly in a half court set.

Nice job.

Glad it's over and there weren't any injuries.

As good as Wade has been he still needs a team to beat us.

I recall him going 40-10 on us last year. I doubt that is anything but his "normal" form.

Wade healthy is a beast and one of the premier players in the NBA.

The problem though, is I doubt Wade can stay healthy.

Right. The issue with Wade is how his body holds up over an 82 game grind. No one was ever questioning whether or not he was a great player.
