Another case of an exaggerating basketball fan mind-set, on a player like Jackson (because of his past)..

No, he won't go crazy or "blow up"... aside from it being his contract year, S-Jax has matured decently

Jackson has changed now, if you've followed him for the past 2 seasons you'd know that by now. I don't really want to go in depth on that topic though.

But yeah, he has a right to want an extension. Stephen Jackson was our best defender, and on offense he was a 20ppg player as well as our 2nd best playmaker. He had to spend most of his energy on defense trying to stop guys like Kobe, T-Mac, LeBron etc. and on offense he was expected to get us that 20ppg and to set his teammates up. His clutch shots also won us a lot of games. The team started the season off 0-6 without Jackson, and when you look at how close the West teams are there were many points in the season where the Golden State Warriors had the best record in the league (besides the Celtics) since that 0-6 start. People didn't really realize those type of statistics since the West was so closely matched, that's how BIG of a difference 6 losses can make.

Stephen Jackson would be great on the Cavaliers alongside LeBron James. The Cavs would get that vocal defensive specialist that could score, make plays, and hit big shots.

People are blinded by Stephen Jackson defending Ron Artest in 2004 and Jackson scaring off the people that hit him with a car. It causes people to look at Jackson as a thug, and all of that controversy results in people forgetting how good Jackson really is. He was the 3rd best scorer on that 2002-2003 championship Spurs team. Tim Duncan even called Jackson "The Ultimate Teammate", and I can't say that I disagree. I've seen that "Ultimate Teammate" live up to the name as a Golden State Warrior; he was just as important to the team as Baron was, why else would Warriors fans call him "Captain Jack"? Other people just tend to mistake passion for anger. I'm not saying that Jackson is a perfect angel or whatever, I know he'll still get a couple technicals in the season, but that's what happens when you play with a lot of heart, love and passion for the game.

With that said, I completely understand if Jackson gets pissed about not getting money; but he's a professional, and I don't expect him to blow up in the season if he doesn't get paid as much as he wants.

Jackson is a family man. He will do anything to share a hotel room with Donni... I mean, to please Don Nelson in the court!

He's in a running system so I hope he improved his endurance, since apparently breathing heavily is a form of a threat now.

Nevermind about Jackson being good on the Cavaliers. He might be good, but he plays the same position as LeBron and I don't feel he has the necessary ballhandling ability to play the SG position. I know he played SG in the past before GS but he's proven now that he's found a niche in the '3' spot.

Which mean that he would fit in well at the 2 on the Lakers squad, that way Kobe can move over to the 3 where he's at his best. Jackson will still get his shots in too. Stephen and Kobe would be great on offence and defence.

SF:Bryant/Ariza/Walton
PF:Gasol/Odom/Radmanovic
C:Bynum/Mihm/Powell
SG:Jackson/Vujacic
PG:Fisher/Farmar/Yue

I must say Jackson defencive skill would be loved on this team, and on top of that he can score at will too. The Lakers would be unstoppable.

I miss having Jackson on the Spurs..he was our 2nd best player in 2003 IMO(a distant 2nd though)..he ALWAYS made the clutch shots, never melted down under pressure..
