ESPN is running a vote. Why don't we just see how that turns out?

Why is Kobe Bryant the MVP? Dude took 21 more shots but didn't even shoot near 50%.

OK, though it's worth to mention that Kobe has more haters than anyone in this league.

1a. Wade
1b. LeBron
2. Kobe
3. Bosh
4. Dwight
5. Chris Paul

Wade is without a doubt back as an elite player.

LeBron probably locked up an all-defensive team spot with his play (since it is not judged by on-court performance over a season, but rather by media perception).

Kobe was inconsistent, but overall he was better than I expected and he came up big against Australia and Spain (medal round).

Bosh is a great player who's played on bad teams. He doesn't get enough credit for carrying the Raptors to the playoffs every year. I wasnt that happy with him being on team USA though...I thought we needed a defensive minded big like Chandler...but he proved me wrong. On a side note, Chandler should get a spot on the next team.

Dwight still doesn't look like he's taken that step to fulfill his potential, but his size and athleticism was needed for team USA, especially against Argentina.

Chris Paul can flat out ball. I thought he played great in stretches throughout the whole olympics.

Overall, I thought everyone played well. Jason Kidd started off terrible, but I thought he played well in the medal round. Same goes for Carmelo, who finally found his outside shot and picked it up on defense. The most important thing was that we played like a team and no one tried to be a hero. LeBron, Kobe, and coach K deserve the credit for that.

I'm not sure about that. Go back and read alot of the posts shortly before the draft and immediately before the Olympics. Wade's stock and reputation were at all-time lows. If anyone votes for him as the MVP of the Olympics it will be solely because of what he did at the Olympics, he had no great following beforehand.

LOL..the undeserved Kobe hype continues..come on..he HAD to have a good stretch vs. Spain, he played average for most of the tournament..having a good stretch vs. Spain doesn't elevate him, it just starts making up for his inconsistent play in the rest of the tournament..even vs. Spain where he had big moments, he still had some terrible shots/misses and missed some defensive assignments..obviously this won't be mentioned because of the media and the undeserved hype he always received..

I found every player on the US team to be inconsistent, except for Wade and The King,..I'd rank them both at #1..Wade was by far the best offensive player for the US..his man defense was average IMO, but his playing the passing lanes was amazing..it seemed like he knew where the ball was going EVERY TIME..Lebron was the leader of the team, and made a huge defensive impact..easily the 2 best players of the tournament..

Wade was also the only reason we were even in the game vs. Spain..

I'm going to shy away from actually rank them and just say how happy I am that Wade looks like he's back.

Basically.

This was a total team effort, from the beginning of the tournament all the way to the end.

Last night's game was a prime example. -- We possibly don't come out with gold had it not been for Wade carrying OUR team in that 1st half with 21 points. And, we probably aren't leaving China with Gold had it not been for Kobe hitting those HUGE shots towards the end.

From 1-12, this was a total TEAM effort.

I'm going to leave the rankings to others, and just have one. -- Team :usa:
