I think Giddens will be just fine as our backup SF.

This is great news. Now we just need to sign Walker, which I believe we will. I dont think we gave that money to Washington for us just to let Walker go, I think they will give him every chance to make the team.

The more I think about Giddens the more I like the pick. I think he's insurance for Tony Allen. If TA is back, then Giddens becomes something like Baby - future trading chip type role player.

If TA is not there, then Giddens can come in and do the high energy defensive thing. Thus giving Ray Allen time off over the season.

I think there very well may be a niche for Gidden. Of the big three, I think Ray is the most fragile.

I don't know how we rest Pierce, but maybe we can just go big and slow it down, or go small and run them.

I think Ray's health is the worry and Gidden is a smart protection pick.

I've been following your guys board off and on after the draft when you guys picked JR

A friend of mine goes to the UNM and so i watched and followed alot of Lobos hoops, i dont tihnk you guys realize what a special player JR giddens really is, he has improved on every part of his game turning himself into a complete player at the college level by senior year.... alot of that is due to good Lobos coaching, which means hes obviously receptive to good coaching and getting better...

but let me tell you theres not much mroe to improve on this kid i tihnk he has the total package (free throw shooting is the obvious needs work), but even the FT shooting was more due to his high level of play on BOTH ends of the court specifically defensivly, and then on offense at times literally having to carry a sorry ass team on his back...

he did EVERYTHING...

anyway my friend put together a highlight compilation of the second half of the NIT vs Cal... the Lobos still lost, but it wasnt because of JR...enjoy.

ps. hes a very underated passer... i beleive he can create for others at the nba level, which in my mind makes him better then tony allen and bill walker.
