Random Draft thoughts thread

Post#1 » by revprodeji » Sat Apr 28, 2007 7:03 pm

Continue with individual vikings picks/moves having their own thread. But random thoughts of other teams and such go here.

1.) phins are silly

2.) cle is taking about moving up into the 1st to take Quinn. I would love that for both parties.

3.) Understand that we have the top-prospect at RB and OLB in the draft right now. Greenway could be the DROY and was ranked higher than either of the lB prospects in this draft.

packers blew the pick. They should have gone OL/WR/TE instead they go for a DT that at best is a high-2nd pick with an injury history.

eat that Farve!!!!

Tenn passed on WR, San Fran passed on WR. this could be huge in letting a WR drop.

rumor is Mike Williams is going to be traded to TEnn

Why do we have the 7th pick in the 1st, yet the 9th in the second, 8th in the 3rd and 7th again in the 4th?

I think because of supplemental picks, but not sure.

No, its because of tie breakers. We had the same record as Houston and Miami - we had tie breaker, so we went 7th in the 1st round between them, but move to 9th in the 2nd, then 8th in the 3rd, 1st in the 4th, ect.

I like Jarrett too. I love receivers with good hands who succeed despite being slower.

Jarrett, Rice, and Smith all available at the start of the 2nd. I'd be happy with any of them.

What is Alan Branch falls to us?

this should be added as a definition to the word "homer" on urbandictionary.com

I was reading a Packers message board, the question was to judge how the NFC North 1st round draft picks, here's what a packers fan said:

Minnesota has a TON of holes, yet managed to draft one of the only positions that wasn't one of them. Granted, Peterson is a talent, but they still have no WRs, and no one to throw the ball to them. Their O-Line is crappy, too. Not to mention that defense is a sieve...but hey, they have a heck of a two-headed monster at RB now!

Lions - another WR.....yay! If I were a Detroit fan, I'd be pissed. That team is horible, yet they draft another high skill position. Granted, Johnson is a talent, but was aother WR really what they needed?

Bears - Solid value with Olsen, but he's a TE who is a horrible blocker. He'll stretch the field, but Cedric Benson won't be a fan of his, garanteed.

Packers - Picked up a very solid D-Lineman who should be a contributor for years. I would say the Packers made the safest pick of the four. Who knows how it will play or, though.

So what's next for us, DE or DB? There's been a mini run on DE's here, and I'm not sure how many more good pass rushers there will be left in the draft after our 3rd rounder.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

Charles Johnson is still out there, as is Quentin Moses. If either of them is still there, that'd be great.

I've liked Keyshawn a lot as a commentator, much better than guys like Michael Irvin and Deion Sanders. I look forward to his retirement, he'll be great every Sunday morning.
