NYY vs. BOS - DO OR DIE

Post#1 » by Jstarks3 » Tue Aug 26, 2008 3:17 pm

if we lose 2 of 3, this season is over. its as simple as that.

TUES - Pettitte vs. Wakefield
WED - Ponson vs. Byrd
THURS - Mussina vs. Lester

No beckett or dice-k, so thats in our advantage, we just need the bats to show up!

Perfect way of saying it...we need two out of three (or perhaps better).

I expect Gardner to see at LEAST pinch running duties the next couple games.

Our really crappy pitcher is up against their slightly less crappy pitcher, so overall the matchups for the series are pretty nice. Their lineup will also be missing J.D. Drew and Mike Lowell (at least for the first two games). Really, this is a gift series for the Yankees so let's pray to God it goes right.

defense is a key to winning, and ever since we got giambi from the A's our first base defense has gone downhill and has be a major hole.. Major...

Is there a team that gets some bloopers, flares and bleeders than the Red Sox?

Nothing was hit hard. They had successive swinging bunts and constantly got little bleeders through. Andy was getting squeezed like no other. He didn't have his best stuff but if the defense makes a few plays that they should make and a few balls bounce somewhere near some fielders and the score is 3-1.

It's so funny. I think Lieter said that if Wakefield threw with a little more velocity all of those deep, fly balls would be home runs. Wakefield is so bad he is good. It's damn hilarious. -Jitpal

LOL.... the angels can literally put up 9 runs and the ball never leaves the infield..
