Shaq in shape??

Post#1 » by ray ray » Wed Aug 27, 2008 4:50 am

All we have heard this summer on Shaq is, his rap on Kobe and that some singer put a restraining order against him. But we haven't heard anything about him praticing his free throws, how good in shape he is or how he has improve his flexibility. I do understand that Shaq is not going to be mistaken to have MJ work ethic. My question is, has anybody seen Shaq or seen pictures that would indicate that he is in good shape or not?

I have a couple of friends that have seen him with his kids in some resturant around 24th street & camelback. They told me that he looks slimmer than he has in the past. What ever that means, I just hope that he is in good physical shape and that he is able to play around 65-70 games this upcoming season. Does anyone have any news beside Shaq putting his huge foot on his mouth?

There was an article on suns.com but im lazy to recheck it for the url.. but it does says some suns players visit the court time to time especially amare, diaw, tucker, lopez and including shaq.. the only ones whose still in vacation were grant hill and barbosa and i'm not sure if the last guy was barnes or nash. but the others are pretty much getting in shape already.

I think he needs to be getting back into shape, but the dude needs to go on a diet! The guy needs to lose some of that fat so when it comes 4th Q, he can still dunk and not get winded too much.

Bring in Jenny Craig with that 500K you just saved on the DJ trade Saver!!!!!!! Put that money to good use.

Hill deserves a holiday. He's played well all year and was unfortunate to have an injury in the most critical part of the season.

Barbosa is a different story. Shouldn't he be in the gym practicing his defense??

Glad to know a few players come in once in a while in their own time to practice. Especially Lopez, Amare and Shaq. Nothing wrong with a rookie with good work ethic.

I'm just surprised with all the time Amare puts in, his defense is still as shocking as ever. Was definitely a little bewildered last off-season hearing about Amare trying to get the 3PT shot instead of better defense.

Can't wait for the season to start!

I think Amare was just not getting taught proper D. As much as he seems to be dedicated to improving, a good defensive coach will help a great deal.

And as much as Shaq seems to care about his legacy, he should be coming into this season in the best shape he has been in for years.

You guys will be fine. I have a feeling things are going to come together for the Suns next season, and Shaq is going to help like he did with the Heat a couple seasons ago.

I remember Kerr saying that Shaq told him during their exit meeting that he would show up in good shape for this up-coming season.

Won't matter; Shaq is going to miss a lot of games, as usual.
