Which All-Class lineup would win it all?

Post#1 » by Cloud765 » Wed Aug 27, 2008 2:56 pm

There have been some mean classes since the 2k's. Which starting lineup would go all the way?

Example:

03'
Hinrich
Wade
Bron
Melo
Bosh

04'
Harris
Gordon
Deng
Okafor
Howard

05'
Paul
Williams
Granger
Bogut
Bynum

06'
Foye
Roy
Gay
Bargnani
Aldridge

07'
Conley
Fernandez
Durant
Horford
Oden

08'
Rose
Mayo
Love
Beasley
Lopez

Feel free to tweak the lists as you wish, those were off the top of my head. Who would go all the way, and who would give match-up trouble with eachother? :D

On paper and in terms of success, you'd have to go with 03-04. I'd withhold decisions on 07 and 08 since they haven't played much yet. Of the rest, '05>'04'>>'06.

07 has a possibility to be great, 03 has the most talent, 05 has probably the best "team" an 06 is garbage.

if u want the best team, my vote goes to 05', but its a close call with them and 07', even though those guys havent played very much yet, or at all in odens case, you can pretty much look at that team and know they are goin to be good...conley, rudy, durant, horford, oden, all of these players compliment each other nicely, rudy and durant are your scorers, with oden and horford holding down the paint and grabbing all the rebounds, while conley is running around setting up anyone who is in a good position to score. this team would be a good fastbreak team.

Why Gordon starts at SG of the 04 class? Kevin Martin should start for obvious reasons...

I just noticed how sick defensively a 04 of this would look :

G Harris
G Iguodala
F J Smith
F Okafor
C Howard

Uber pwnage. Don't think they would be that effective on offensive though with Iggy as the only one that can really create.

With this lineup, definitely. If things get tough, you can sub Kaman out for Hinrich and get another shooter, give them a look like:

Hinrich
Wade
Melo
Bron
Bosh

I'd trust Bron defending 4s more than Melo, even if he doesn't have quite the post game, he'll draw the opposing PF out and blow past him all day.

Put Ford on the 03 team and get in transition.... they'd score 130 a game. lol

Ford
Wade
Melo
Lebron
Bosh

that is one crazy lineup for a Phoenix or Golden State type of system. They would win it all rather easily.

all these teams could win it all but 06 class seems the weakest.

dude I don't know what you're drinking but come on! common sense is that the class of '03 is the best. and 2 of the players from the here mentioned '07 class didn't even play an NBA game yet. yes I know that they won't face a lot of problems but common sense has the class of '03 as their winner with 2 legit superstars (bron, wade), 2 borderline superstars (bosh, melo) and above average players (depending on who you take: Hinrich/Ford as pg or Kaman as C).
