A Rod and Giambi

Post#1 » by AirPaden » Wed Aug 27, 2008 2:17 pm

The next person that says Arod is the best baseball player on the planet should get a reality check. Is he a hell of a player, YES. Does he consistently perform in clutch situations, HELL NO. I am so tired of hearing announcers say that he is the best. Arod can take his homeruns and go elsewhere for all I care. The Red Sux tried to give last nights game on a silver platter. Each time Arod came up and said no thank you I prefer to lose to a bunch of Tripple A players.

Last year was his walk year, I wish he would have walked. He was so locked in because of the MONEY. Well MR. Arod, why don't you get locked in for the remainder of the DAMN SEASON. Relax at the plate, spit the buble gum out and focus on hitting the freaking ball. I tell my son all the time, it's about contact not crushing the ball. So far this season Arod is not producing when he needs to. Of course he has had some key hits, but not nearly enough to quench the thirst of true Yankee fans. His deserved to be booed last night for his putrid performance. 7 men left on base? Yeah, he is the best baseball player in the world

Without Steroids, Mr. Giambi has proven that he is not the constant threat at the plate that he once was. Giambi is another RALLY KILLER and he cannot throw the ball to save his own life. Please put Ransom in. He looked pretty good in spring training and the few games he played since coming up. The Sox are playing their kids, we need to do the same thing. 31 games left, time is running out.

Giambi and Arod went a combined 0 for 9.

Kudos to Jeter, Abreu and Damon.
We got BEAT by a bunch of tripple A players last night. Humiliating to say the least.

On another note. Matsui should DH, Put Gardner in Centerfield, (speed and defense) Sit Giambi and put Ransom at first. This team needs to sure up the defense and add some speed to the lineup.

From a Sox fan I think you'll be alright with ghey-rod(no other option it seems) but Giambi has to go. hes WAY too inconsistent to be an everyday 1b anymore. MAYBE if he was at DH hed be okay but you guys have like 4 players in the same boat.

This Yankees season seems to be eerily like the Sox 06 season. there was a sliver of hope in August but the injuries just ended up being too much. I hope for your sake the Steinbrenner boys let Cash do his job and use the remaining month to figure out where **** stands. I dont have that much faith in them though.

I still, for some reason, see you guys makin a push. I dont know why or how, I just do.

I was venting on the other thread. I agree. A-rod isn't the player that jeter is when it comes to winning and playing the game.. He may put up better numbers but he is not the better player, especially when it counts.... But this is what A-rod does, he seems to fail the biggest when it counts. I mean twice he had rally kiing DP's. Twice, and he left no chance for the guy behind him to pick him up... even if he flies out to the OF with bases loaded, a run tags up and comes home and the next batter has a chance. But no, the worst possible thing availabe to happen, happens with A-rod..

Giambi should have been sent to the glue factory long ago..

Right now I am totally fed up with Arod. Of course I would love for him to prove me wrong, as I am a diehard Yankee fan first and foremost. Yeah, Giambi is very consistant at not hitting.

I hope your right. I would love to see one last push in this team. Thanks for responding!

I still think the Bosox has a great hitting coach. It seems like who ever puts on a Red Sox uniform they can string up some key hits. It's called don't go for the homerun, just make solid contact.

You could not have said it better TKF. Giradi needs to shake up the line-up a bit. Place Matsui or Cano before Arod. Didn't Joe Torre drop Arod in the line-up at one point?

How would you like to see Gardner in Center and Ransom at first. At least we improve the defense and add contact hitters to the line up. Sick and tired of seeing Giambi striking out and popping up.

Peace TKF

Place Cano in front of ARod? And you think that will solve consistency problems?

Come on.

Did I say that placing Cano before ARod will solve consistency problems? I think that Cano will drive in more runs not solve Arods consistency problems. Only Arod himself can solve his lack of hitting in clutch situations.

Come on ?

A-rod is gonna be fine, he belongs at the 3 spot and when we get rid of IQ less Abreu this offseason we can move him to his natural spot. Sign Manny to a 3 years/60 mil deal and alternate him and Matsui out in Left. Bring up juan miranda to be our everyday 1st basemen.

Damon
Jeter
A-Rod
Manny
Matsui
Posada
Nady
Miranda
Cano
