Good news on Bynum
Andrew Bynum is running on the track. He’s hitting the weights. He’s doing basketball drills. More importantly, the young Lakers center shows no signs of any lingering problems from his knee surgery.
Bynum has spent the past month down south, working on his conditioning following surgery in June to repair a partially dislocated left kneecap he suffered Jan. 13. He was cleared to begin drills after a month of rehabilitation, and is expected to be 100 percent for time training camp in October.
“Andrew has dedicated another summer to getting into the best possible shape,” Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak said. “A month ago he was cleared from the knee surgery he had and at that point he began working on conditioning and getting into shape and I thought he looked like he has made progress.” well must of us allready knew this, but theres still alot of people in the trade threads and whatnot saying hes coming of a major knee surgery and whatnot,so finally there it is he's back to 100%.http://www.ocregister.com/articles/bynum-kupchak-surgery-2138984-lakers-month

Good news, especially seeing all the bogus threads on how "overrated" Bynum is suppose to be in other people eyes. I have come to the realization that these people would be singing a different tune if Bynum was on their team.
I can't wait until Drew is giving it to these teams on a regular basis. Then I wanna see who's talking then.Because come season I'm callin out and naming names, book it.

The strange part is those are the only two teams he played against both times.

with Bynumite coming back i'm positive it's goning to help bring the more agressive Spanish-national Pau Gasol to the court.

**"He looks to be in great shape. He looks ready to go," Kupchak said in a phone interview Thursday. "There's no reason to believe he won't be 100 percent for training camp."....
***Though Bynum did not play five-on-five basketball during the two-day visit, Kupchak said he watched the 7-foot, 280-pounder go through a strenuous workout that included running, jumping and various agility drills.
"That's the reason I went there," Kupchak said. "I wanted to see him run unencumbered, go through agility drills, jumping drills, the things players do... You hope they don't limp or favor a leg. He did not. That was number one.
"On top of that, I was impressed by what he did with his body to get in shape and get stronger. It was obvious to me he had been in the weight room."...

That's great news. I'm glad to hear that his recovery is going well. As a Blazer fan, I'm really looking forward to opening night and seeing our two young Centers battle it out. Roy and Kobe can take a back seat on this game as far as my interest goes.

Yup, I have to believe the first game of the season (while likely sloppy and rusty) will be the start of a long rivalry. Should be fun. Can't think of the last time two young legit centers got after each other. Shaq vs Mourning? Could have been.

Re: Good news on Bynum
This and the other news that mentioned him at 290 pounds of packed muscle are both awesome to hear as a fan. He's got sound fundamentals for big since Tim Duncan and now realzing that he's not going to get pushed around by any other C in the league is priceless. Young bigs never come in this good.
The other good thing is to know that he's not favouring the other leg or being skeptical while landing like Livingston has been while working out since his recovery from injury. Good to know that he's bouncing back as hard as he can.

Well unless former 76ers expect Kareem Rush to be our three point shooter. I think Philly should trade Evans for Vlade. Lakers could use a strong/rebounder off the bench after Turiaf went to the Warriors. 76ers don't need him cause we got Dalembert/Brand/Speights/Ratliff.

Thanks, I picked him up. Any guess on how many minutes per game I could expect?

I think around 31-33 MPG is fairly reasonable, which is 2-4 minutes more than he played last season. He's been out of action for a while, so it'll take him a bit to get back into the flow of things, but I'd expect for most of that to be worked out by the end of pre-season.

Re: Good news on Bynum
Bynum is an ok pick up fantasy wise, but don't necessarily use a high pick on him. Keep in mind that offensively he's going to have to share the ball with Kobe, Pau, and Lamar. And he's also going to have to share rebounds, and blocks with Pau and Lamar. I'd use my middle round pick on him.
