Eric Snow's Contract

Post#1 » by Cevap » Fri Aug 29, 2008 6:29 pm

Why do some of you guys keep saying that he'll retire before the season? There's no way he'll leave 7 million on the table in order to retire. Will he play? No, he's too broken down, but he'll still be on the payroll until we trade him or his contract expires.

True. And also we can use him in a trade that might bring over that PF we need

He will still be paid his contract but he can still retire. He's injured and incapable of playing.

The Eric Snow situation is interesting. He is injured and unable to play basketball, his career is probably over. The situation with his contract is like this, the cavs have requested an insurance claim because he is unable to play, the cavs will not see any of that money until one year after the "injury" occured. So for now, his contract remains on the cavs cap and will be there, yes he can not even pass a physical but that is really a mood point as people taking him in trade would be just wanting the contract and not the player anyway. I really dont see the cavs trading him anyway, he gained a lot of respect from the coaches on how he coached and mentored d west and gibson this past season.

he did already file for the medical retirement but that money wont be seen until one year after the "injury" occurred.
