Warriors/ Cavs TRADE
Been hearing a lot of people talking about a deal with the warriors and cavs on other boards and wondering if there is any truth to the rumor or if it just all hype.
Warriors get:
Andy
West ( sign and trade)
Cavs get:
Al harrington
Brandon Wright
Sounds solid for the cavs, get one year of offense from harrington and wright can be the future pf if hickson doesnt work. Deal is a need for the warriors after finding out ellis needs to miss some serious playing time and they were already thin at pg anyway

Re: Warriors/ Cavs TRADE
Why in the world would the Cavs want Harrington especially if it costs them their one and only back up center? It really makes no sense.

Re: Warriors/ Cavs TRADE
I think for next season west and andy will be more usefull than either of them.
The only reason we would do this trade is if we thought brandon wright could be a GREAT player in the future, and i dont think he can. Even if we did, i still think it would be a tough trade to pull the trigger on.

Re: Warriors/ Cavs TRADE
Not sure why Sid the Squid thought is was neccessary to wave the homer flag for Golden State over on the CAVs board. Wright hasn't proven anything which makes him a prospect. In fact, Golden State's Randolph out performed him in the summer leagues and he was drafted at the end of the lottery this past draft. CAVs drafted Diop like 8th, but that didn't make him a star -- rather a career back-up. Until Brandon Wright does something significant over an extended period of time -- he's no better than a scrub at 6'9" and 205 lbs -- so save the jock waving for the Golden State board. While it's amusing to hear this unverified potential love for a player like some Golden State fans do for Wright -- it get's old when you are talking about current value rather than maybe value.
Not sure why anyone would be that excited about Harrington who wonders too far from the basket to be an effective front court player other than his love of hoisting up three pointers. As stated previously, Wright hasn't shown much and was out played by their late lottery choice (Randolph) this past summer which tells you that Wright was probably drafted too high and needs time to develop and the CAVs already have a better fit than him in Hickson.
In Summary, let Golden State keep their valuable pieces and the CAVs keep their useful ones.

Look at that, we crack NBA talent advising extraordinaire: Sid the Squid up...
Luckily enough, we are fortunate to have this NBA talent spotting genius here to tell us that we're cracking him up...
Apparently, Delonte West (who averaged 10 points and 4 assists here and during the playoffs ) should not be compared to the exquisite talents of the great Brandan Wright, who impressed us all and the entire NBA community with a statistical outburst of 4 points and 2 rebounds a game for his entire season...

Re: Warriors/ Cavs TRADE
Warriors pass. Regardless of what you guys might think of him, we like BWright a lot and have very high hopes for him. I can't see us dealing him unless a legitimate star player is coming back in return, which isn't going to happen at this point. Plus we already have a backup C (Turiaf) so Varejao is a little redundant.
All in all, I think both teams are happier with what they've got.

worst post of the year. Delonte is not a scrub. But i don't think he should go to the Warriors. Their fans don't deserve him if they anything like how you present yourself in your post. He is a true role player on a championship team. He can play PG, defend alot of SG, play good hustle defense and then can score when needed. He may do anything great but he can definitely do what I just said. He has his right hand weakness but it has improved enough to not be too much of a liability.
I agree that Brandon Wright's value should still be that of a lottery pick but Delonte's and Andy's value isn't that far off. Al would be a 1 year rental.
Kwame Brown is servicable, get over it.

Delonte, Boobie, and Andy would be a great start to a core bench for a championship team. Hopefully we can get something worked out with West and Varejao.

Wright was a lotto (#9) and we GSW folks tend to feel he was a bargain at 9. Us having a coach who is not real logical and has no thought of the future is why of our last EIGHT draft picks...only Ellis really played any minutes yet. Probably it's Nellie's last year. GSW has to build a team to compete, not just pad the second string.
Harrington has a 2 yr contract.
CENSORED... No comment.

Re: Warriors/ Cavs TRADE
Thanks for the input.
Doesn't seem like a good fit for either team.
The CAVs already have J.J. Hickson at PF who has drawn rave reviews this summer and has an NBA body at 19 years old. Don't know why the author thought the CAVs needed another PF guy that still needs to grow in to his position both physically and mentally like Wright while Hickson just needs the mental part.
Varejao can play both Center and PF very well in the post while Harrington is allergic to the post defense and on offense. Harrington seems to be a better fit with the W's with his G/SF jump shooting style that fits their wide open offense better. I just feel that the CAVs and Andy can work things out and come to some compromise like they did with Delonte West for a contract extension. Since Andy's former exclusive agent (Fegan) sold his agency to another company -- I think there is a possibility for things to work out between the CAVs and Andy's new representation. Yes, Fegan is still part of the new agency, but he doesn't have as much influence anymore.
Given Varejao's flexibility in playing both center and PF with better post defense -- Andy is a better value for the CAVs than Harrington who is a better fit with the W's.
