Classy Move by Blazers Organization

In partnership with The Oregon Community Foundation, the Portland Trail Blazers have established the Kevin Duckworth Memorial Scholarship Fund, according to NBA.com.

"Kevin left behind a legacy of generosity," Portland president Larry Miller said. "This scholarship honors that legacy by allowing Kevin to continue to better the lives of people in our community for many years to come."

The Oregon Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses and organizations to create charitable funds to support the community causes they care about. Through these funds OCF awards more than $55 million annually in grants and scholarships.

Very class move by the Blazers, they recognize one of their own in a way where he will always be remembered.

I applaud them!!

:rocking:

Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

Even if that were true, which it's probably not, does it make it less classy on the Blazers part or something??

I don't really see the point of your post.

Its definitely a classy move sorta makes up for their unclassy move of persuading coaches to vote for Roy in the all-star game..

No, definitely not. It's definitely classy, but probably every team in the NBA would do that.

its a bigger honor being chosen by coaches rather than fans and Roy did really well in the allstar game for the west.

this has nothing to do with the topic at hand or an indictment of the blazers, but

"classy" is the single most overrated concept in sports
