Suns could see a drop in ticket sales

This article has no merit but it got me thinking, could the Suns possibly see a drop in ticket sales? What do you guys think?

It would be interesting to see what happens if that's the situation because Sarver is all about money and if tickets arn't selling it, wonder what would happen.

Phoenix Suns: The Suns may have already seen their drop, but with the offense slowed down with Shaquille O'Neal and Mike D'Antoni now in New York they have lost a lot of that fun factor. They were 14th last season, bringing in 18,422 a night (97% capacity). If the team struggles, as many are predicting as Shaq gets another year older, even being a playoff team might not help the ticket sales because this team will be compared to the ones of the past few seasons. Given a choice, fans would spend their money on the offense more fun to watch, especially when it results in wins.

SUNS lead the league in sellout home games and I don't see that changing unless due to acts of god.

Thesis: The Knicks sell out constantly.

Conclusion: If the market is there, entertainment is entertainment. Ticket sales league-wide will drop because of the economy, but any team-specific runoff due to minor adjustments in Suns team performance will be minor and happen very slowly, over the course of a few seasons. By which time I would like us to be contenders again anyways.

Read this article. The Suns are spinning this quiet well. there is now way that they would be doing the 1/2 season or 11 game plans if they weren't seeing a drop in ticket sales. I had a 11 game plan in 20056-07 season then got season tickets in 2007-2008 so I could get playoff tickets, but they didn't offer the 11 game plans or the 1/2 season tickets last season because they didn't need too.
I personally didn't renew my season tickets this year because of time constraints (I'm taking night classes at ASU and work nights and on top of all that around playoff time I'll have a newborn to take care of) But it has been a nightmare trying to cancel my tickets this year. I have a lot of money in an account with them because they make you pay for all 16 possible playoff games up front. Well anyway I told them I was not renewing my tickets all the way back in March and I still don't have my money back. It took calling them about 5 times to get them to finally do the paperwork and have me not renew. Sorry for the rant, but I think they will see a drop in ticket sales.

Yeah man I'd be up for the pick up game. I'm a little out of shape right now. Getting married does that. But I would be interested. Keep me posted.

alright alright I did vote on your poll this time Maryvales. We have Shaq now remember? Shaq himself could sell out tix. I do not expect a drop in sales this year.

"I'm more of a traditional type of guy about guys playing the same positions and traditional sets. I'll be running pretty basic NBA sets but just have different wrinkles than they've had in years past."

Ticket sales will probably go down if they are not as exciting to watch. That's what I think anyway.
