Whoa, whoa, whoa.... who knew the Sixers' Board had this much love on it??? Well, I did. Most of us have been here together through the mini-dark times and now that things seem to be looking up, it appears as though this board could end up attracting a lot of new posters hence I was asked to help keep a watchful eye.

My goal as a mod isn't to go on a power trip and act as though I am somehow better than anyone else or as though I know more than anyone else but my goal is to simply keep this a happy place for those of us who love this franchise and love talking about them.

And yes tk.... you're right. I want in on those conference calls!!!

I am not from Philadelphia or anything but I'm assuming there is a reason why it is called the City of Brotherly Love . Congratulations by the way, I'm sure you will make a fine mod.

Though not quite sure why more "moderation" is needed. This forum at peak levels in the AI years had 2 mods, and now with maybe 1 new thread a day we need to have more policing?

Seems like the "mod" thing is more a reward for being a good poster rather than being true to the name.

hey i dont post on here alot but your a posters name that i read alot and gain knowledge from since my favorite team has and always will be the Phildelphia Sixers, although i live in LA. Congrats homeboii ^_^

I see what you're saying but things on this board got pretty insane in between the draft and the beginning of August. While things are dead right now, I believe this board's most active days are ahead of us since this team not only figures to be good this season but for the foreseeable future given this team's young age. I don't believe RealGM was around when Iverson and the Sixers' popularity were at there highest (late 90's up to the end of the 01-02 season).

My hope is that I really don't have to use any sort of mod actions so that I can just focus on talking about this team instead of other shenanigans.

This forum is far more active than it was 2 years ago. That's quantifiable.

Plus, not all of us are around all the time. Scan was on vacation a good part of the summer, and hoops and I have been on and off. It's good not to have to rely on 1 (or even 2) people.

I'll answer both parts.

Game Threads: I've done them for the past 2 seasons and am more than willing to pass the torch if someone else wants to take over.

Anderson: He's a bad ass character from the manga series "Hellsing". If you're not into manga (Japanese comic books that read right to left instead of the normal left to right) then I would HIGHLY recommend the "Ultimate Hellsing" DVDs. NetFlix has them and they are extremely well done.
