Listening to the Jim Rome show today, and he had Grant Hill on his radio show. Great interview, I have a ton of respect for this man, and how he carries himself. He is an educated individual, smart and has been an all around good guy. Many NBA players need to look at him as a model of character.
Anyways, they were talking about the suns and the change. He said something interesting and said he probably played more games this past year than he did the past 7 years. He then said, he thought he played TOO MANY MINS, and is excited about the new season with Porter, and playing the bench more.
Its good MD is gone because he would run him into the ground again if he was coaching again this year. Seems like they did not fully agree on MD’s philosophy in running 7 guys for 82+ games each year.

Good to hear. The Suns have such a deep bench, especially this year, and it is important we actually use it. I'm psyched that at least one player is already buying into the system and looking forward to getting a little more rest during the season.

Sweet as. I really want to see this guy succeed so badly. He has been an inspiration to me with his overcoming of his career threatening injuries. I love listening to his views on certain things, as you said with how he carries himself.

What else did Hill say? Did he talk about the Shaq/Marion trade?

Both on and off the court, Grant Hill has been very admirable - even to that unselfish extent of thinking he played too many minutes. But as his body gets older another season, those minutes will go down.
Still, I am ultra impressed with the numbers he put up last season - 15 ppg and what was it, 5 rebs with a couple of assists? Great effort from one of the many Suns' veterans leading the way.

I like Hill and what he brings to our team. Despite never getting that far in the playoffs, he still brings that toughness every playoff team needs. He's also a very classy guy off the courts. A model human being.
