with all of the threads about the new logo/name/colors, was it really neccessary to have another thread just to set apart your non-constructive opinion?

Don't really feel insulted or anything... just don't see the point of an additional thread about the logo so one person can give their opinion... that's the point of the threads to begin with... to group opinions on a similar topic :)

Guys, do we really need a dozen threads on the logo and colors? Let's stick with one thread, please.

Don't really care that much at all either way.

Only things that really matter are how KD, Green, Petro and Westbrook develop and what Presti turns the expiring contracts of Mason, Wilcox, and Smith into. What Presti can flip Watson, Wilkins and Collison into and who Presti plans to go after with all that cap space and who Presti plans to draft with all those draft picks.

Another top 5 pick in 09, 2 lottery picks in 2010 (Suns pick is gaurunteed to be a lotto pick) + cap space. We're set.

I honestly couldn't care less about the logo or colors. Championship is all that matters and Presti has this team pointed in that direction. Color and logo mean absolutely nothing.

I appreciate the spirit but you're getting a little (okay WAY) ahead of yourself. Championships might be all that matter but let's talk about that in about 5 years. For now we can concentrate on getting to 25 wins.

Presti knows what he is doing. 25 wins will be great this year another top 5 pick. 30 wins is fine in 2010. 2 top 10 picks in 2010 (1 our own, 1 the suns), enough cap room in 2010 to sign 1 top tier free agent and 2 2nd tier free agents. This team has a brighter future than any team in the league besides Portland.

Kevin Pritchard is the best GM in the league, Presti is a close #2. Management wins championships in this league. Presti will build a team that can win it all sooner than later.

I am growing to kinda like it, its just something you have to get use but I still think I could do a better job and think of better colors like Gray and a dark shade of red with som black would be kick ass.

Again, your spirit is 2nd to none but let's be realistic. I'll present a brief outline of your plan and why it won't work. The 2010-11 roster according to your outlook:

Westbrook ($4 million)
Durant ($6 million - Contract year)
Green ($4.5 million - Contract year)
Collison ($10 million - Contract year)
Sene ($4 million - Contract year)
2009 Draft pick (let's say $4 million)
2010 Draft picks (again, $4 million x 2)

Basically that adds up to $40.5 million as is. Adding a top FA (let's say at $10 million) and two lower FA's (let's say at $5 million each) puts the total near the cap at $60.5 million, and you still have 6 more spots to fill on the roster.

More importantly, this absolutely kills the team come 2011-12. Considering Collison and Sene walk away, and Durant re-signs for the max at $15 million while Green signs for a bit less at $10 million, the total salary for the season would be around $50 million for 6 players AND you have to look at signing Westbrook to an extension next season, another Top 5 pick the year after, and so on. Basically my point is you can't get away with keeping a core of Top 5 picks that will expect max contracts AND go after big FA's. It will be hard enough just keeping a roster of potentially six Top 5 egos happy and under contract.

If Presti is as smart as you think he is he will supplement the draft picks with LOW BUDGET FA's only. I'm talking less than $5 mil per, more likely much less even. This is the same problem that Portland will be experiencing in a couple of years when Roy, Oden, Aldridge will all want max contracts and Bayless, Rodriguez, Batum will be asking for substantial raises as well. The best move would be to package a couple of these Top 5 picks/players for a legit superstar and hope that the others (let's say Westbrook and Green) develop into unspectacular role players that fit the system, thus demanding less than $10 million each.
