Hello everyone,

It’s been a while since I have had a chance to speak to all the Laker fans all over the world. Before my injury, my teammates and I had a great rhythm building for the game of basketball. Immediately following the injury I watched my team struggle a bit, and that was really difficult not being able to help them out. We then traded two of my best friends on the team, J Crid and Kwame Brown. I had mixed emotions about the trade at the time, but what we got back in the trade was an All Star with a lot of skills in Pau Gasol. He can shoot, rebound, pass, and basically do it all. He helped to right the ship and propel us into the playoffs. It turns out he is a really good guy, and I am looking forward to practicing and playing with him. We held on to our #1 spot in the West and went on to meet Boston in the Finals. That was really the most difficult situation I’ve ever had to deal with, not being there for my team and fans on the biggest stage in all of the NBA. The thing that kept me sane throughout the entire time I was out was my family and friends, fan support, and the fact that this Laker team is building for the long hall. WE WILL BE IN THE FINALS AGAIN.

For the past six weeks I’ve been here in Atlanta preparing for the upcoming season. The first couple of weeks were really to get my wind back and strengthen my leg. Wow was I out of shape, but fortunately it came back pretty fast. I have my mile run back down in the low sixes, I’m playing way above the rime, dunking the ball like crazy, and my leg is 100% pain free with no swelling. My trainer, Dr. Sean Zarzana, has me doing all types of workouts from track, strength, balance, basketball, stretching and yoga. All of the routines are extremely challenging, but I can feel my body returning to the form from. We will be returning to LA in the next few days to continue these workouts, and I am really looking forward to practicing with the coaching staff and all of my teammates as well. This week Mitch Kupchak and Jim Buss stopped in for a visit. They watched me go through an upper body/track workout. After we had lunch at a local restaurant......

Great news and i hope he's upto his best when training camp rolls around. It'd be mightily fascinating to observe how Phil modifies the offensive sets to utilize all the talent on this squad now.

I am going to take it one game at a time, one day at a time. There is no rush to make AB the focus of the offense. He will do his part. Lets get the entire team into the same game plan and see how it goes from there.

Ever since the trade for Pau all I wanted to see was Pau and Bynum on the floor together. I can't believe it still hasn't materialized but it's starting to look promising as the off season ends. We are going to be a BEAST up front. No one is going to label us soft anymore once drew's back. And the days of getting out rebounded will be erased. It'll be a cold day in hell when Utah beats us up on the glass again. If Fisher gets beaten by his man on defense they are going to be driving into the lane with basically three seven footers. Imagine both Bynum and Pau averaging 2+ blocks a game! I can't wait.

^^^ Who cares ?! :D

I doubt Andrw Bynum and his agent would lie for getting the max contract by writing this report.
If it's so, then i'm sure Andrew may lose some respect from all the Lakers' fans and the organization too.

But that report is so encouraging and positive !

Way to go...

They would never write that if it was all BS. Drew has integrity. Plus, I'm not so sure he didn't write that mostly himself. After all, Cap is his mentor.

I'm excited.

There was some type-o's and spelling errors -- which leads me to believe he did write that himself.

but yeah.. to the message- I am excited about getting Bynum back in the mix. Love the work ethic and he seems to be headed in the right direction.
Cheers. — Mags

So what's the over/under on Bynum absolutely destroying the Celtics low-post this season? 8-)

Mitch and Jim visited him.. hmmmm Jim hmmmmmm

Anyone else sick of Jim? thanks for the center... now let your sister and dad take care of things. When weird blogs, Jim, and that shifty agent are all in the mix it makes me nervous for more weirdness.

Of course, Jim Bus is an erotic photographer, so maybe he just wanted Drew to lie on a bear skin rug.

I know this is mostly PR, but I can't help but excited whenever we get a new update. How sweet it would be if Andrew takes another quantum leap. If he can stay healthy, too? Drool...

How dare you point out when I'm wrong. heheh. :D Johnny Buss right.

Still Feel like Jim Buss is trouble in the future. I'd Rather let Jeanie run things to be honest.

^ Sedale,

Yeah. Right before the injury, he seemed to have just realized how dominant he could be. I bet he is still pissed off at getting injured at the time when he started to go on a tear. He's probably also a bit embarrassed about the extended recovery time. It all seems like motivational fuel to me. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts off the season in a fury, averaging 20-13-3 for the first month.
