Who do I start?

Post#1 » by mavfan12 » Thu Sep 4, 2008 11:56 am

I'm not sure who to play this week in my third RB spot. It's between Edgerrin James at San Francisco or Earnest Graham at (maybe) New Orleans.

Play the Edge. The Cards should build enough of an early lead that they'll grind out the late quarters on the ground.

The Jets were horrible against the run last season, ranking 30th in defensive DVOA against the run. Now, if you allow for any schematic and personnel improvements, they should still…suck against the run this season. Not as fierce but the improvements won’t be dramatic. I’d start Ronnie Brown. Even though Earnest Graham has less competition for carries.

I'd be quite worried about carries right now for Brown, so I'd start Graham. Brown is nice to have on your roster, but who knows what kind of load he's going to carry. I might start looking to trade for him around week 5 on some of my teams because I don't think Williams lasts the season, but I don't think Brown will rack up fantasy points the next few weeks. That's just a hunch, he could have a great game even with less than 10 touches against a week Jets D.
