Who, if anybody will be the long term community guys on this Jazz team? Every sport city has them. Who will do the TV commentary? Open a restaurant? Marry a white woman and convert to Mormonism?
Who will be the Booner, Mark Eaton and Thurl Bailey of tomorrow?
John and Karl went home. Hornacek is in and out from time to time. Even Ostertag decided to retire with the blue hairs in Phoenix.

I definitely don't see Booz as a community guy... and by this I mean in retirement. He is a nice guy and always willing to visit a sick kid or two, but as soon as his playing days here are over Cece and him are outties until any number retirement ceremony. Deron, with the right connections could stick around. Deron Williams Mazda-Nissan-Kia anyone?

Well first person came to mind would be Matt Harpring. When i think of our major stars on our team deron maybe will retreat back to texas. Booz is probably following home and living near family in florida. Only other person i would think of would be Ronnie Price being that he went to school here in utah.

I think he might be gone now. Antoine Carr stayed around for a while, don't know his status. Ike Austin is around I think.
I am not too sure on Harpring. He likes exurban Atlanta it seems. He is more of a boater type and Utah is crap for boating. His wife may want to stay for hr practice.
edit:jeez, no one saw that?

Too bad. I thought he was a good law enforcer for the community.

Matt Harpring did a really good job announcing during one of the RMR games. Deron seems to like Utah a lot and I'd love to see him stay in Utah after his playing days are over.

Most Realistic: Ronnie Price. He even lived here even when he played for Sacto.
Millsap has a nice house in Foothill, depends on what happens next summer for him, but I dont know if he will be a "community guy."
Im pretty sure the Harprings are outtie, maybe they stay if Matt gets a job he likes and for his Amandas practice. I doubt it.
I for one think Deron doesnt stay here after he retires. I think 13 yrs of being here year round and having celebrity status will drive him nuts. He moves when he retires.

Ronnie Price is a good call. He could end up replacing Booner or getting a high end job with the Flash. I wonder if Thurl will be seeking political office with his face showing up at the RNC. Maybe Jon Jon asked a special favor of his diversity enhancing presence.

I say Price and Harpring. Price wants to be in media after his career. And Harprings wife has a medical pratice here and is stable so he could retire and stick around.
