Paul Pierce is the guy for me. Really nobody is that close. Behind him is Powe, just love the way he plays and what he's over come. Then Ray Allen, I'm a UCONN fan.

Pierce. Longest tenure, best player. Tough, plays through almost anything.

I voted Glen Big Baby Davis because I couldn't stand watching him lose to Veal.
But my favorite celtic is paul pierce, followed closely by ray and KG.

Re: Who's your favorite Celtic?
Favorites:
1. Kendrick Perkins - The best defensive center in the NBA, imo. Developing offensive game. Unheralded as a facilitator.
2. Rajon Rondo - One of the three stars on the Celtics. He played at an All-Star level as a rookie and people focused on the jump shot. He played at close to a superstar level as a sophomore and people still talk about his shooting. It's ok, Fat Lever was under-appreciated in his day, as well. Rondo is this close to being Lever. He may even surpass him.
3. Brian Scalabrine - He is a great defender. He is perhaps one of the top-5 at being able to provide a hard trap and recover at the NBA level. He had trouble with his shot last season but also faced inconsistent minutes. He is very good at finding teammates for open looks within the flow of the offense. Provides space by his great understanding of angles, hard picks and overall floor awareness. Besides, I subscribe to free thought and not group think. Especially when the majority of the Scalabrine hate originated at Das Celticsbloggen.
4. Leon Powe - Numbers are a by-product of minutes and opportunity. If Powe was given The Jefferson-type touches and minutes, he would outproduce him. Both have trouble defensively. Leon provides the bench scorer from the frontcourt.
5. Gabe Pruitt - Unfortunately he didn't see much burn in 2007-08. He is so smooth, he almost floats. There is fast-twitch to his game but he rarely needs to use it. All the doubters will see. Pruitt has a wet jumper and developing distribution skills. And he is a hard worker who loves basketball.
Un-Favorites:
1. Glen Davis - He has some positive traits, no doubt, but he severely under-performed to his ability last season, imo. Full of fake hustle and Wally Rah-Rah enthusiasm, he grates on my nerves to the point that I have started to hate him with the venom of a 1000 rattlesnakes. His over-the-top shtick is so transparent to me that I feel bad for the people who can't see he is a phony.
2. Ray Allen - Ray is quickly moving into the most overpaid players in the NBA category. I hate that he ignores open teammates at the front of the tin after a hard pick. Ray is terrible as the point man in the pick game. I am in favor of moving him in the right deal. A deal that would net us a true off-the-ball SG threat, a 1st and contracts for the next two years would be fine with me. Like Davis, I hate that his supporters overstate his importance to this team.

Paul Pierce. Won a title by being himself and playing a blue collar game.
Followed closely by Rajon Rondo. A young, promising firecracker with lots to give and lots to learn.

Re: Who's your favorite Celtic?
Wow...just...WOW...Pierce being the most popular is kind of obvious, but I'm very surprised that KG only gets TWO votes. I guess he's on everyone's Top 3 (or 5?) but not the clear favorite on many people's list. That surprises me.
KG is great but he hasn't been here long..that's a strike. Another issue is that basketball seems kinda easy if your 7'1" (his real height so I heard) very agile and have great hops. I think people fall in love with guys that overcome some odds..
For all Pierce's bluster and ego he plays kinda a blue collar game that's not that flashy.. So it's not surprising he is a fan favorite around here. Plus he has been with us the longest.
I personally think PP is crazy talented as well but its not so obvious watching him. Your like OMG I can't believe he stayed with Kobe! What a warrior. With a guy like Perkins your thinking "OMG jump and grab the ball you slug can't you get off the floor? " With KG its you think to "well that was easy - why don't you do that more often! Stop with that crazy outside shooting.. Oh you hit that one. Okay now stop. "
TA is my second favorite because I love his intensity out there and his Salmon and Mashed Potato bit..
Pete

Leon Powe and Bill Walker: The two guys who have been written off because of knee injuries, but will ultimately prove their true worth through their immense dedication to improvement and professionalism...both these guys will be known as extremely valuable players on winning teams and I think both will be starters at some point before their days in the NBA are through...

Bill:
Dang. That is one encouraging post. I love Powe. I love his story. I love his toughness.
My favorite is Pierce and then Perk. Anyone that can take a knife to the chest and be practicing within a weak, lead the league in oral surgery, and embaress Kobe in the finals has to be my favorite. His return after the knee thing is legendary already up there with Havelcek stole the ball or Bird's pass to DJ.
Perk's defense of Pierce in Chicago, that alone makes him my second favorite. At last someone had Pierce's back.

Re: Who's your favorite Celtic?
My clear favorite is Leon Powe. I just love him and want him to succeed real bad.
After Leon, it's hard to rate everyone in order of preference because they are all very likable.
I guess Pierce, Perk and Tony would follow because they've been here through good and bad and deserve our respect for everything they've accomplished.
KG and Ray are consummate pros and class acts who put us over the top.
Baby and E-House bring a lot of energy.
Rondo is our bridge to the future.
Scal...I love him, too.
It's hard to not like anyone on this team.
Makes me appreciate Danny even more for assembling this team.

My favorite Celt is Rajon Rondo. I love the way he plays the game and I really like his underdog story and the way he has improved.
Leon Powe is also very likeable. And I do have a very good feeling about Mr. Bill Walker too!!

Pierce is more than a favorite player. He is now an icon. He has been here for a long time with a championship title.
