Yeah. Right before the injury, he seemed to have just realized how dominant he could be. I bet he is still pissed off at getting injured at the time when he started to go on a tear. I wouldn't be surprised if he starts off the season in a fury, averaging 20-13-3 for the first month.

Yeah ! That'd be so nice ! But i'm afraid that the 8 month absence factor may influence Andrew's game in november, or in the 1st half of november ?! But then, after a dozen or so of games he'll do just like you've mentioned !

Anyone else sick of Jim? thanks for the center... now let your sister and dad take care of things. When weird blogs, Jim, and that shifty agent are all in the mix it makes me nervous for more weirdness.

Of course, Jim Bus is an erotic photographer, so maybe he just wanted Drew to lie on a bear skin rug.

Jeannie scares me a hell of a lot more than Jim.

Jeannie is a emotional wreck. She is too air headed to even see that Phil Jackson is using her. Does she honestly believe he is going to retire and stay in LA? Once he is done coaching he will ride back off to Montana while she will be left standing on the curb still questioning when Phil will propose.

Jim has improved the way we do things. One of the first things he did was revamp our whole draft process. People like to forget but our drafting from 97 - 04 was pathetic and a major reason our depth eroded and our teams became weak. Only good thing we have to show from that time is Sasha - THAT is how bad it became.

Since then Bynum, Ronny, Wafer, Farmar, Gasol, Yue, Crittenton.......sure one bad gamble in Wafer but other than that the difference has been huge.

Jeannie is great because of her talk show appearances, playboy spreads, etc.... she has a passion for the organization and financially is a smart woman but that doesn't equal being capable or ready to make smart basketball decisions. She has already allowed her personal life to influence her professional life.

On the Loose Cannons, Bynum called in to VTB and Hartman to reiterate he is 100%. Lean, strong 285, mobile and the knee is 100% physically and he's past any potential mental concerns over it. Good news - and from the horses mouth.

-Bynum said he has 9% bodyfat and that he trying to get down to 8% in his interview on the Loose Cannons.

-He also said the leg he had surgery on feels better than before he got hurt.

-His workout lasted for about 3.5 to 4 hours a day

-He sounded really excited about this season.

-If I can think of anything eles I'll post it.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum proclaimed himself completely healthy Friday, saying he expects to be better than ever when training camp begins Sept. 30.

"I'm doing well, man," the 7-footer said during a news conference at the Lakers' practice facility. "The knee's good. Everything's ready to go, 100 percent. I've been training, getting stronger."

"Actually, I'm better," Bynum said when asked to compared his fitness to last summer. "My times on the track are better and I'm able to lift more weights. I'm stronger. I weigh about the same, I'm 285 (pounds) with less body fat."

Nice, thanks for the link.

Cracked- I still think that Mitch is the main reason for the drafting. He just got better with time, like you hope he would.

I like the part when he says, " If they get by him (Pau) that means he changed their shot and I'm there to catch it". Translation our defensive field goal percentage will have us at the top of the league period.

Great news, I just hope all of this is legit. His longer-than-expected recovery and his aggressive agent in his contract year do give me pause, but that's just the skeptic in me.

If he's even as good as he was before he got hurt last year, we'd be a - no, the - dominant team.

Get the season started already. I so want to see that Bynum/Gasol/Odom/Bryant/Fisher lineup work it's magic. Such great passing on that unit.

I hope that knee was a freak thing. Because a 12/10/2 Bynum + 19/9/1.5 Gasol and a 26/5/5 Kobe will give us a championship.

I think it's just a matter of a big, gangly kid finally getting used to his own body and learning how to manipulate those long-ass limbs.

I've got a collection of Shaq's high school games on DVD, and he was a ready-made NBA player at 17. All he needed to do was fill out a bit and develop his game.

Andrew, on the other hand, was not even a dominant high school player from what I've read -- loaded down with baby fat, a bit clumsy. He needed time to mature physically, let alone off the court as a teenager living the NBA lifestyle.

In addition to nature taking its course, he seems to have accelerated the process thanks to an outstanding work ethic and a competitive streak that is only going to get nastier as he gains more confidence.

More than anything, these are the things I've really come to like/respect about Andrew. Talent is one thing. But to have the drive to push yourself, day after day, when you're already enjoyed some success, is a rare gift. This is something I always appreciate about Kobe, regardless of all my little quibbles with his game -- he has maximized every ounce of ability he has.

Obviously, Andrew has had plenty of motivation so far -- proving he belongs in the NBA, coming back from his injury, going after a big pay day. But he seems to be the type of person who naturally goes the extra mile, and won't slack off once he's achieved a certain status or income level.

I think he's going to work his ass off regardless. I just hope he can stay healthy so we can see, and enjoy, the results.

Luke Walton got a sneak preview Tuesday of what the Lakers missed for half the season last year — Andrew Bynum’s dominance — and gave the center a thumbs-up.

Walton said getting Bynum back will be key to the Lakers returning to the NBA Finals, something he believes they can do this season, barring injuries.

“He looked amazing,” said Walton, who is coming back from ankle surgery. “Obviously it was sloppy pick-up basketball, but as far as his hook shots and blocking the ball and making dunks and cuts, it was good.
