It's a good measure when comparing players who see similar minutes. Both B-Jax and Damon saw limited minutes and were in the same boat. It would be wrong if I were to compare Steve Nash to Jeff McInnis using this measure.

Maybe ten years ago...I'd honestly give Francis the chance to earn that spot.

Not really. It's never really a good measure to compare players' effectiveness. I think assists in general isn't as important as people make it out to be, at least on an individual basis. Basketball is all about having quality possessions. I don't care if a point guard has a 25 assist rate or a 15 assist rate as long as his other possessions are efficient ones. Damon shot .35 TS% with the Spurs last year and turned over 20% of the time. BJax shot .15 better and turned it over 11%.

I like Mouse but I wanna see Francis get the chance to earn his spot.

Why are we worried about signing another PG when we need to address our front court depth?

It makes no damn sense and its getting quite frustrating more and more each day when I visit realgm and dont see the headline "Rockets re-sign Landry or Mutombo."

You guys have other things to worry about, but I'd rather have Damon than Brooks, or Francis for that matter. I'd concentrate on the front court more, and re-signing Mutombo and Landry.
