our roster,line-ups & talks about re-signing west?

Post#1 » by bossman23 » Fri Sep 5, 2008 1:15 am

so we should know our roster has improved from the past year from getting PG to the bench!

mo/boobie
pav/kinsey
lebron/wally
ben/jj
Z/av/wright(should be signing soon 8-))

well i know you may say where is west but he hasn't signed yet....in the past year we have gotten rid of our trash & have become stronger just looking at the roster....props to ferry b/c i would expect a 55+ season,a #2 seed, division title & title contender IF we stay healthy(with nothing more than MINOR injuries & get a potential all-star by the deadline)...

well i respect what west did for us from the deadline but i have to be honest that i am not high on re-signing him  ....he just doesn't fit here anymore considering kinsey is here,mo is starting the point, boobie is back-up PG(is a core player with a long contract) & keeping west would just make our back-court smaller...i am glad to have kinsey coming off the bench (or even start depending on our things work-out) but i am worried that if we re-sign west he may hurt kinsey PT & even pav's & wally's....

what are your thoughts on this?

whats the point of this thread?

of course you resign him.

boobie is a SG.

both mo williams and boobie are injury prone too.

id rather have this roster over yours:

Mo will/ Delonte
Wally/ Boobie/ Kinsley
Bron/ Pavs
Ben/ Wright/ Hickson
Big Z/ AV

btw you should have just posted this in another delonte west thread.

Only one problem you can't start Mo and Wally opponents guards would KILL us. I would like to see Mo and Sasha as our starting guards. IMO Wally has to come off the bench since he doesn't have knees anymore.

yea...wally doesn't really fit here anyway...i don't like his game b/c all he does is shoot open looks...i know boobie does that to but boobie has potential to become a solid PG (or at least a back-up behind mo) & is trying to improve his game & create for himself...i would like to see sasha or kinsey(depending on how he does in TC)...all wally needs to do is get us that all-star caliber with his expensive contract

I agree that IF sasha regained some form of his past self he would be a good compliment to mo and lebron. I don't think Wally isn't that bad though. Mo has the ability to drive and get past defenders, so having wally to kick it out to isn't a bad thing. Since the FO seems to like wally i'll put him as starting.

Our roster is pretty much filled out for Training Camp (with the signings of Wright and Jackson). The only thing left is Delonte, and then Snow needs to retire or one of Allred or Thomas need to be gone to get our roster to 15.

Mo (36)/ Delonte (12)/ Boobie
Wally (22)/ Sasha(8)/ Boobie (18)/ Kinsey
Lebron (38)/ Sasha (10)/ Wally
Ben (30)/ AV (12)/ JJ(6)/ Jackson
Z (30)/ AV(14)/ Wright (4)

That's how i could see minutes working out- I think Boobie's minutes will depend on Sasha. If sasha is good, Boobie's minutes will be low. If he's bad, boobie get all the minutes at backup SG (maybe kinsey gets a few), and wally gets the minutes at backup sf (Sasha would probably get a few here and there at both spots but not many).

Mo Williams is not injury prone.

In the last two seasons since he replaced TJ Ford as Milwaukee's starting PG, he averaged over 2400 minutes per year. I believe that in the last two seasons he has played more minutes than any Cav player, except for Lebron.

Williams sat out games at the end of each of the last two seasons, when the Bucks were out of playoff contention and/or trying rookie Ramon Sessions at PG.

^^How so? Big Ben is our primary starter and reliable PF as far as right now. Age isn't the issue. There is no doubt that he would be playing above 20 minutes a night, barring any injuries.

our managment seems very high on JJ and darnell. and andy is apperently playing great and coming to form. not to mention well be pushing the ball alot this year which means lebron will see the 4 spot alot.

^If we are going small and pushing the ball then he will see time a C, since Big Z is the SLOWEST center in all the NBA. So IMO if healthy Big Ben will get at least 20 min. a game playing the PF and C.

I don't see anyone on the Cavs management who are high on the supposedly late first round pick and a second round pick who took us a while to sign. Plus, Mike Brown isn't a coach who likes to play rookies unless you really shine like Boobie. Coach Brown is more of that coach who likes to play veterans and players whom he can rely on to be productive.

Yeah.. ben plays more than 20 minutes a night. it's ridiculous to think otherwise.

And a different note, anyone have interest in Kosta Perovic?
