lol the Seahawks look like little boys against grown men... wow, they look absolutely putrid.
not trying to jump the gun, but I don't think Branch and Engram coming back are going to make that much of a different.
the reality is th seahawks benefit from being in the weakest division in the nfl.
damn seattle sports teams just can't catch a break!

You don't think adding two of the best WRs will help this team out much when you've seen lesser recievers drop five passes in the first half? Whatever.

So if the Hawks kick ass in the second will that make the Bills worse than putrid?
I'd like to see more kent, though unless we get the ground game going it looks bad either way

Why is Hass targeting Putzier so much? And why is Putzier in there so much?
Another bad punt by Plack...that's three. Wonder what Hodges is doing?

Okay. Enough is enough. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy! I imagine Holmgren's erupting like Mount Saint Helens in the locker room.
We're not out of this game by a longshot yet. But I want to see some execution right from the get-go in the 2nd half.

Re: Game 1: Seattle Seahawks vs. Buffalo Bills
Well- let me correct myself- obviously adding your 2 starting WR's would make a difference, I just don't think the difference that it would make would amount to much of a difference in the end result.
The underlying problems still remain:
- our OL looks horrid
- we have an inept run game
- Holmgren is still ultra conservative
- we have one of the worst special teams corps., especially coverage, in the NFL
We can't rely on a mid 30's WR and a constantly injured undersized WR as our saviors. The reality is this team is not one of the elite teams in the league. I admit I was guilty of blinded optimism, but that's mainly predicated on the fact that the Seahawks are all we've really been able to be excited for Seattle wise over the last few years. I just don't see a killer instinct with this team. Too predictable, too conservative, and not enough talent to counter their deficiencies...

Re: Game 1: Seattle Seahawks vs. Buffalo Bills
WTF is up with Plackemeier? He's kicking like a scared little girl today! It's bad enough that the offense can't move the ball enough to stay out of punting situations, but him shanking the damn ball and generally making weak-assed punts doesn't make it any better.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Re: Game 1: Seattle Seahawks vs. Buffalo Bills
It's not all on the offensive line...if there's five linemen and Buffalo sends seven guys, obviously the offensive line's going to be overwhelmed. The RB's need to do a better job of picking up the blitz, or the coaching staff needs to do a better job of recognizing the blitz to begin with.
As for the conservative play calling, what the hell are you talking about? Seriously, give examples and explain what plays would have worked better. I'm assuming you have a natural ability to see the defensive personnel packages on the field and know what non-conservative call would generate positive yards...
The 'Hawks are playing on the road against a team with a defensive minded coaching staff and a strong defensive line. Throw out something more useful than rote cliches about "killer instinct," etc...
As for the running game, it's looking better in the second half. John Morgan over at Field Gulls though the team needed to start running outside more instead of trying to blast it up the middle, and the team started out the second half doing just that with success.

Eh, that sequence was doomed from the get go...after the sack and the penalties, I don't think trying to bump a run to the outside to was a bad idea in order to get a manageable third down. You knew the Bills were going to blitz...if Sims hadn't fallen on his butt that play may have worked.

See Sweezo for this. Apparently he concurs w/ Holmgren's method for judgment.., lol
Sweezo, this is one of many examples- which is not something that he is known to do just this season. Saying it's doomed from the get-go- you might as well use that excuse on every 3rd and long play. The reality is Holmgren is more worried about making a big mistake, than he is about taking a risk to make a big play.
On the road? Playing a game you really have nothing to lose in at this point?

And that's the difference between a coach with a killer instinct, and a coach who plays to not lose. When wsa the last time you've seen a fake FG or punt from Holmgren?
I can't wait until another era of coaching begins. This team needs an infusion of fresh ideas. Buffalo's coaching staff is making Seattle's look like they take the short bus...
Thank God I live in sunny weather, because I swear if I had to go through this as a Seattle fan living in Seattle, I'd feel sorry for my damn self lol...

I trust Holmgren's judgment more than yours. All you ever with your posts is do is back a "go for broke" mentality...never actually defining what that means or what should be done, quick to criticize when things go wrong while neglecting to offer praise when things go right.
You're the same guy who thought trading half the farm for Bedard was great for an M's team in contention. The one positive thing that has come out the Sonics leaving is not having to read you opinion about what should be done to fix that particular franchise.

Right now I have the same sick feeling in my stomach as I did while watching the OSU/Penn St. game yesterday. I don't think I need 2 games like that in the same weekend.

So you're wishing we had Dick Jauron as our coach instead of Holmgren?

I'm just happy I had other plans and didn't watch the Cal/WSU game like I'd wanted to.
