OT: Week 1 NFL - Brady - Out For Season?

Post#1 » by Force9024 » Mon Sep 8, 2008 5:38 am

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ms-bradyoutforyear090708&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is expected to miss the rest of the 2008 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, according to a source familiar with the injury.

For those Patriots fans, could be bad to see Brady out for the season. Still a good team, but Brady brought em a different dimension.

Other than that thoughts for Week 1 of the NFL?

Dolphins looked better even though they still lost, Favre looked pretty good.. Michael Turner was AMAZING..

Sadly, just like that, Daunte Culpepper might have found a job.

Jags, Colts, & Chargers did not look impressive at all...Brady goes down for the Pats..no on else in the AFC North looked good....I like the way things are looking for the Steelers.

If out, the Pats will still be good.

They won't be great though.

Daunte should get the call but he won't, they're looking at Simms and Rattay.

DOLPHINS!!!! lol as KG would say ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! actually i was pleasantly surprised by how they did against the jets Sunday. Had a few fixable mistakes, but they need to get their offense running earlier... but still way better to watch than last year

Ya. It was kind of exciting though seeing all the underdog teams coming out. It felt like the beginning of a new era... or just week one jitters...

As much as I cannot stand Tom Brady, this is a darn shame.

I hope the initial thoughts on the injury are wrong though.

It however was a thrill to see my Giants snap their perfect season dreams.

Get well Tom!

I heard on the Shannon Burke show that he did get a call.

im not a pats fan at all, but i dont wish injuries upon anyone, if hes out for the rest of the season they are done...culpepper to the pats? i dont see that one...dolphins looked better, but our secondary is completely useless, and i dont think we have a #1 wr let alone a #2, we need to run better with his line we have

Tell me about it. I got him with the third pick in my $400 per money league. And because he's been such an iron man, I didn't back him up very well at all. It looks like I will be trying to get Cassel this week, or I might have to dangle Megatron to get me another one, perhaps McNabb. Just devastating, I get hit by the injury bug every year. Last year it was Jacobs in the first game with S.Jackson to follow. I have a long history of this actually. The Madden curse has nothing on me.

Magicman.. With the way the Dolphins played yesterday with their mistakes being fixable.. Will Allen looked pretty good. The teams young and definitely a work in progress. However, if they feel they have a shot at the playoffs and need a go to receiver, you may see them call Joe Horn or Terry Glenn?
