I know Brewer and Miller can play SG but I consider them both SF's when it's all said and done. So is McCants our only true SG?

Brewer might be more of a SG than SF for the moment, his size/speed seems more suited to guarding SGs than SFs. Especially with SFs getting more beastly season by season.

Once Brewer eats a cheeseburger, he'll be a SF, but until then, he's a SG.

Either way, Miller and Brewer on the floor together fill each others' faults well enough that they'd be a very effective 2/3 combo.

There was a few times last season where he was put in the 3 spot, I believe.

I recall him playing SF most of the time, but he always seemed way overmatched in the muscle dept

As I recall, rev is a big fan of Shaddy as a 3, at least while playing zone. I don't think it's much of a long term solution, though. At the very least it hurts rebounding. I think Shad got bit a bunch in transition, too.

I didn't like Shad at the 3 at all and don't see any reason to play him there.

I think he is our only pure SG as the question asks.

To be fair I liked it as a once in a while option. Defensively it is not a long term solution. But if we wanted to go small, push the tempo and stretch the floor it could be a good option. Of course, having Mike Miller means we would not need Shad at the 3 to stretch the floor.

I like having various options in the line-ups. Playing the chess game.

btw, this is my first post back.

yes shottie, is our only sg, but i think that our team needs more position players, by that i mean we have too many guys that are tweeners. i could be wrong but lets check to see how many teams over the last 10yrs have won championship with having a bunch of tweeners at the 1,2,3. positions. just a thought.......

Agreed, Foye is a true SG, he just has playmaking and passing abilities like Kobe and Wade.

I like Foye at PG better. He seems way too passive playing off the ball.

So do Wade/Kobe/Peirce

All of them play with the ball in their hands. Most of them create the offense. Most of them rely on a point guard to bring the ball up anhd then givwe them the ball, it conserves their energy that way. That is the type of player Foye should be

interesting, I guess I never really looked at Foye as that kind of player - an iso volume scorer guy, I always had him pegged as a Chauncey kinda guy. He doesn't seem to have that kind of one on one ability. Rashad seems a clear level above him in iso ability.
