Arroyo reading to lead maccabi

Post#1 » by CourtsideTV » Tue Sep 9, 2008 10:13 pm

""This is a very big step in my career," Arroyo said. "It'll be a great experience."

"I played a lot in the NBA, and I felt there was a need to make a change. I wanted to be a more effective player for my team, and with Maccabi I'll be able to be that," he added."

per wiretap..

LAWLS @ I felt there was a need to make a change. Lets see if he can be more of a playmaker now.

He will play incedible ball. You have to admit he is one of the best international players of all time. He was a good NBA player as well, just couldnt remain consistant enough to get were he wanted.
Boston fans have Green asses and Brown noses! Right Stu?

I think he'll do well over there. The FIBA game seems to agree with him more than the NBA did - which has always struck me as odd, because no matter how much his hardcore fans might claim otherwise, he is not a pure point guard, and is much better at breaking people down 1 on 1, and he's also an average outside shooter. I would guess maybe it's more the role and status on the team that allows him to flourish in FIBA-ball - being a team leader and go-to-guy is obviously a mentality he feels more comfortable with, but was something he was never going to be in the NBA.

I wish him well. I always thought he was awesome seeing him play for Jazz and the Puerto Rican national team. And I'll never forget that game last season in Seattle when he kept lobbing it up to Dwight. I hope he dominates.
