Anyone for Allan Houston?

Post#1 » by zol2332 » Mon Sep 8, 2008 2:32 pm

Yes, he's old as dirt. Yes, he has bad knees. However, no one can deny his ability to shoot the rock. A year ago when he was considering a comeback, we were mentioned as one of the interested teams. Well, rumor has it that he looks younger and invigorated. I'd certainly give him my veteran minimum to come in and supply veteran leadership to compliment LeBron. Also, he could give us minutes at the 2 and 3 assuming we deal Wally Szczerbiak, and possibly Delonte West. It wouldn't be much, maybe 10-15 minutes backing up James, Sasha, and Gibson, but I think he could have a positive impact on this team.

I think we have enough veteran leadership. and if wally or delonte are dealt, we will probably get a sg back if we don't get a pf. i doubt that we trade both. I also think we brough kinsey in for the min so he could ride the bench and play if needed. I'd rather see what he can do than what houston could. So a no from me.

Yea we have enough vets and dont have a need for another perimeter guy. Whatever perimeter player we acquire from here on out would probably be through trade and would be a significant upgrade.....

I would actually love to get Newble back at min salary. He can play sg, sf, or pf in emergencies.

Allan Houston was drafted in either 92 or 93, which leads to the question of: How many players from the 92,93,94 NBA drafts are still productive ??

I think 3 or 4 and they're dropping off fast...Zo, Shaq, Kidd, Hill etc...

Point being, this idea is poor...

Yeah, the more I think about it as well, I would rather see what Kinsey has in that 3rd SG spot. And, to the last guy, I was referring to him in a 10-15 minutes per game role. I wasn't talking about him being a starter as Kidd, Shaq, and Zo all could be.
