Seems like HOU will have a LOT of problems resigning their FA in 2010. Yao, T-mac and Scola all possible FA on that year.

Re: 2010 Free Agents.
That's a pretty stacked list.
Is there a similar off-season the last few years? The closest I could remember was 1998 when Jordan, Shaq, Mutombo and company were all free agents and jump started what would be the salary cap.

I can't wait to have this LBJ thing settled so that we can finally have some peace.

If we have success with Artest he will probably be signed to a multy year deal in 2009.
In that scenario Yao will stay for sure and T-Mac would probably take a pay cut to help the team.
Scola will ask for a lot of money.
If we don't have success with Artest then he will walk in 2009 , Yao will be re-signed in 2010 , we let T-Mac walk and have a ton of cap space to sign another big free agent.

The Jazz could turn into a below average team if they lose Boozer and/or Okur

Re: 2010 Free Agents.
as a Suns fan, Im excited, becouse in those same year, the Suns are going to have close to 40 mil to spend!
The only players in the books are going to be Amare(17 mil) Boris (9 mil) and Barbosa (7 mil). Thats a total of 33 mil in the books! I can see the Suns throwing some seriouse cash at Dwayne Wade, Joe Johnson and Lamurcus Aldrige.
We shall see!!

Amare's going to opt out to cash in that summer, so there's no guarantee PHX will be able to keep him.

Re: 2010 Free Agents.
Here's to hoping the Raptors can do big things in the off season of 2010.
JO's 22 million comes off the books and Bosh is a free agent. Calderon makes an average of about 8 million a year for the next 4/5 years so that won't be a problem. To add on we have a bunch of players that will be coming off the books between now and then.
My dream scenario is JO is still a valuable serviceable starter in the NBA but at that point in his career he will take a pay cut of about 10 million per or somewhere along those lines. Bosh resigns starting at 18 or 19 million per, and Wade signs for the same amount of Bosh. That would be awesome.

Re: 2010 Free Agents.
If BG doesn't resign, then Bulls will have about $25mil to spend that summer and I bet that they will lure one of the big star to come over to play alongside Rose and Deng.
Also Bulls will have couple of solid pieces to make sign and trade as well like Hinrich (his contract will be like $8mil a year and declining) and same with Nocioni and/or Noah/Thabo or even Tyrus depending on who we go after (Amare? Lebron? - if we go after Lebron, we can offer Cavs Deng in a sign and trade - that's a great consolidation for them).
Just a thought. I think Bulls getting #1 pick pretty much changed everything. No longer Hinrich/BG/Nocioni are part of the core any more and they are building around Rose/Deng and possibly Tyrus (if he breaks out).
