Who's the best pure shooter in Laker history? Who's the best 3-point shooter in Laker history?

Best Pure Shooter ?

Zeke from Cabin Creek ( logo) was pretty good - shot 47% on his career and had sa 50% year. There were many lakers who had better %'s but they played under the basket alot. ie. Shaq, Cap, Wilt and even Ceballos got his buckets from around the rim put backs. Big Game and Wilkes were also good shooters from the floor.

3 pt shooter ?

Mike Penberthy? lol

...The Machine.

Horry, Kobe, NVE, and Jerry West were clutch, big shot makers.

Peeler was a solid shooter. Sedale Threatt was great inside the arc. Glen Rice was a good 3-pt shooter for those couple years.

Fisher has been a consistently elite 3-point shooter as a Laker.

But when it's all said and done, I think it's going to be Sasha, because shooting is his role, he'll get plenty of opportunities, his shot is effortless, he's not afraid to put it up, and he just averaged 44% from three last season.

He should shoot above 40% from three for the rest of his career. He's a friggin machine.

Yeah the Machine can very well be the best shooter the Lakers have seen when its said and done.. I am just going to give him some more run first.

Best pure shooter that played on the Lakers during his career is probably Glen Rice, although he did most of his shooting for other franchises.

Yup, Cooper, Horry, even fish was in the three peat era.
As far as Shasha I personally think he only did well last year, I hope he can keep it up this year.

Oh man what a topic... a lot of good shooters have put on a laker jersey some of them werent on their best while in p&g tho...Glen Rice? And didnt Mitch Richmond throw on a Laker jersey?...Penberthy was damn good too. Kobe, Peeeeeeeeeeeeler, The machine might take this title soon. Fisher, & even Fox had his hot moments, K Rush?...ugh i dunno... Bscott? Van Exel?

I'm surprised no one said Brian Shaw for a candidate for best 3-pt clutch shooter. He came up big in some of those playoff games.

Glen Rice only played 2 years for the Lakers, Sasha played 4. True, Rice helped us get a ring, but it was also being at the right place at the right time. Sasha helped us get to the Finals, and nobody expected us to be there, and his shooting blows Rice's out of the water - and Rice had the luxury of playing next to both Kobe and Shaq.

Also, Glen Rice shot better than Vujacic only for one year in his 15-year-career.

Personally, I don't think Sasha's maxed out yet, not at all, because he's improved every year, and he'll only get better looks when Bynum is on the floor. With Bynum, Kobe, and Gasol on the floor, Sasha is going to get some pretty easy shots - easier than he's had this past season.

Glen Rice, I don't know, he's a great shooter, but I never felt he was a great competitor. For example, remember a few months ago when Sasha got elbowed in the throat, fell down, and ran back with a look of berserker rage? I thought he was going to kill somebody.

I never saw that face on Glen Rice, ever.

There's something about Rice's game that just seems lazy to me.

And there's something about Vujacic that just buys my confidence. He's intense, he's already an elite shooter at a young age, he knows his role, his shot is effortless, he's improved every year, he's hard working...and he's a geek. A geek with a lot of confidence.

I think he'll challenge Kapono as the best spot-up shooter in the league. He's got too much passion, man.

His favorite target was the Sonics.

Absolutely, NVE is one of the most clutch Lakers of all time, and he was a big reason why the Lakers were worth watching post-Magic, pre-Kobe/Shaq.

He had so much heart, no matter what the score was, he'd try to pull out a victory with his heroics, his long range daggers. The Seattle battles against GP were epic, too bad the Lakers weren't successful enough at the time for him to get the credit and recognition he deserved (although he was selected as an all-star once).

Definitely one of the best shooters ever to put on the P&G, and although he stepped into shoes he couldn't possibly fill (Magic's), he still put the team on his back and entertained a city and gave us some hope.
