Sucks to be them. $5 will get them an endless bowl of chips and salsa at Chilis, they can watch each game there.

What about bottomless drinks and queso? You know you gotta go for some queso.

Also Chillis is kind of a sh^+ place to watch a game here. Better off going to Iggys.

Better off going to Montego Bay... but I digress.

I am a Booner Homer. I grew up with the man. I learned the keys to the game from him. I learned that the key to ending homelessness is throwing 3s freely, and that Jerry's hatred of the 3 stems from his hatred of poor people. I learned how close it is to get to the state line going the speed limit.

Fact is EVERY local sports analyst has annoying idiosyncrasies. You need to learn to love them. Internalize them. Make them part of your experience bing a local guy. I wish Hot Rod chose TV instead of Radio and Steve Klauke was stuck doing radio until he dies. Boler coulda waited. Hot Rod won't be a guy in the old folks home. That's just not him. He is a drinkin' womanizing life living machine. He will drop dead mid sips of beer. It could be any day now.

When I was in early middle school I wanted to be a sports announcer. The career center at my school brought in people to talk to kids based on your career goals. They had Boler come in (as the channel 5 guy at the time) and talk to the kids who wanted to be Sports announcers. It was me, and the kid with MS in a wheel chair. The kid with MS admitted he didn't actually have dreams for the future, and only filled out the questionnaire randomly. Boler talked about grades, talked about playing football for Wichita State. Talked about keeping your options open and goals high.

Now here we are 13 or so years later, the kid with MS has been dead for 12 1/2 years and I am sitting here drinking Scotch and not announcing sports. So that's the story of my life. Boler tried what he could. I appreciate the effort to this day. But it will never top the day Hot Rod called my mom "babe" and winked at her. Hot Rod is my f***in' hero.

Is this an excerpt from your bittersweet memoirs, Delaney?

How bout for the pre-season they do "Just Boone". No play by play and he just chimes in and rants on when he feels like it. I think it could be a huge hit. Between his vast knowledge of FT shooting and suits it will be dynamite.

I think I hate DJ the most. This guy is so un-cool and has absolutely no style that I can't believe that he has a job. He might do well with the Utah County crowd, because he is so blatantly white bread and momma's boy that they might relate, but as far as a professional member of an NBA media team, he does not cut it. Somebody should just throw him down a flight of stairs and replace him with anyone (other than Dave Fox and that other geek).

As a sidenote, the entire halftime crew is worthless. It's difficult enduring them. Sorry, Thurl, but it's true.

I like DJ, he actually has a head on his shoulders and isn't just a talking head that used to be a professional basketball player.
