Post#1 » by Cigamodnalro » Fri Sep 12, 2008 2:40 am

Idea has been thrown around the Raps forum. What do you all think of it?

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Seems like a fair deal. Humphries has two more years on his contract, so we'd probably be in luxury tax territory for the second year (2009-10). Not that we care, but the front office would.

I guess it wouldn't be bad. It's not that I'm much of a Bogans fan. But I'm not much of a Humphries fan either. It's not that he's without skill. He's just....well, he hasn't been able to really make a mark yet and I don't know if he ever will.

I think Bogans is more valuable to our current roster than Hump. We can use Bogans to guard scoring shooting guards and small forwards, and to hit the occasional three. Hump would be similar to what Battie and Gortat bring to the table.

Long term, I doubt management would be interested.

Bogans is versatile enough to play the 2 and 3 on both ends of the court. Of the 4 shooting guards, JJ is the one that needs to go, way too one dimensional.

Humphries is reported to be owed another two years. In fact, that Bogans is expiring is why this could be a good deal for Toronto.

If the Magic are going to break Redick into the rotation, Bogans has got to be shipped.

The resultant roster:
PG: Nelson, Johnson, Wilks
SG: Pietrus, Redick, Lee
SF: Turkoglu
PF: Lewis, Cook, Gortat, Humphries
C: Howard, Battie, Foyle

With the Magic reported to bring in a scrub wing player, that would set the roster depth and the Magical 15 would start their 20th season.

They also proposed a Bogans for Joey Graham trade, but didn't think we'd accept...
