Kirk Barton a Dolphin

Miami Dolphins pick up Kirk Barton

Was a RT for Ohio State last season, but I'm assuming he wasn't able to cut it at RT for the Bears, so he's going to be moved to the inside at guard.

And Sean Ryan was cut.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

I think we'll see this all season long, the lower 1/4th or 1/3rd of the roster being shuffled in and out to try and find players for next year and beyond

I am a little disappointed to see Ginn still starting, if it were a true meritocracy he wouldn't be after last week..

IMO, the coaching staff is still trying to figure out what each player can or can't contribute. Ginn is not a #1 receiver. We need him linning up on the slot and get him the ball on the open field where he can make magic happen. He also needs to return kickoffs and punts. That is where he is more valuable. We can't have him fight defenders downfield or run routes that he is obviously not ready for.

Let's remember that Ginn played QB and CB in HIgh School and didn't start playing WR until his 3yrs in College. He still learning to play the position (hence his troubles with routes and getting open). Now I don't know if he is ever going to become a #1 receiver but at the moment, to build his confidence, we need to get him the ball with room to use his speed.

imagine how much better we'd feel about our defense if we had Amobi Okoye or Patrick Willis (who I really wanted, moreso than Brady Quinn) instead of Ginn.. the good news is for the 2009 draft, we'll probably be a top 5-8 pick, and there will be options at a lot of need positions for us: look at the linebackers coming out: Mauluga and Laurinitis, WR stud in Crabtree, several OTs like the kid from Alabama or the kid from Ole Miss, DBs like Vontae Davis and Malcolm Jenkins, or Selvie from USF as a Defensive End.. we'll be in good shape, we're rebuilding and we draft seemingly well

I also think we'll have a good pick from the Skins at the top of the 2nd round, that team is going to be .500 or worse

Oh I agree 100%. Tedd Ginn and his family at the bottom half of the first round would be a different story. Patrick Willis on this team would've been great. I also think we'll snatch a couple of compensatory picks next year to go along with our top 10 pick and 2 high 2nd rounders.

The other day as I was driving I started to think about what positions are the biggest needs? Comparing it to last year, we only improved our DL and OL and even at those spots, we still need help there. I mean, a NT to groom behind Ferguson, inside and outside LB, CB and even Safety are needs. On the other side of the ball, RB is solid and although we could improve at TE, I think it is less of a priority now. but OL, WR, FB and even QB until we find THE starter for years.

I believe next year we make inside LB a priority (hate Crowder's lack of playmaking ability), with a WR stud NT and CB also high on that list with our 1st day picks. At the end of the second day, a couple more OL, DB's, FB and WR would make for a good draft. More depth at LB, Safety and DE should be free agency priorities as well.
