Jax injured Lumpkin up

Post#1 » by eagle13 » Thu Sep 11, 2008 2:20 pm

BJ has a concussion. 2nd of his career. I do not want him to be seriously hurt or anything. I do not want that for even Viking players. That being said - if its just enough to move kregg up in game I'd be happy to have the chance to see Kregg in action in a real game.

Gazette said VM & Herron still unsigned but Pack not making a move yet.
Maybe Jax goes on IR?

If the concussion was at all serious I can't see Jax playing this week or possibly the next. Lumpkin's going to have to be moved up. I thought he looked worlds better than Jackson and he reminds me of the back we just saw, Chester Taylor.

He looked good in preseason but so do lots of guys who never amount to anything. I'm interested to see how he does against a bad defense on Sunday. He has to be better than Jax was on Monday.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'll be bold and say Grant and Lumpkin both eclipse the 100 yard mark.

The funny thing is that's not even that bold.

I'd say bold would be 250 yards each.

Brandon Jackson has looked really bad. He jukes before anyone is even around him and he looks almost afraid to hit the hole... Not to mention this guy couldn't break a tackle to save his life.

If Lumpkin is aggressive he will be better by default.

How in the hell does B Jax have a concussion?? It seemed like every time he was about to get tackled, he'd fall to the ground because he was afraid to get hit. Okay, maybe that's exaggerating a bit, but still, he's kind of puss.

It'll be interesting to see what Lumpkin can do though; I always enjoy seeing a guy get his shot when his number is called.

That's exactly what I was going to say.

The title of this thread makes it sound like we played Jacksonville and Lumpkin got injured haha.

Not even just on running plays, we ran a few screens for Jackson and instead of quickly getting upfield, he dances around to much. That was a big reason i had hoped the team could have kept Herron somehow, he was good third down back, particularly on screens. Herron caught the ball and got upfield right away.

Grant may not even play this weekend. Lumpkin's taken all of the snaps at halfback at practice.

Green Bay - Expect running back Ryan Grant (hamstring) to be listed as questionable when the injury report comes out Friday -- and at this point he's far from a sure thing to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

He hasn't been on the sidelines for practice this week for planned rest. He has been rehabbing his hamstring and will test it Friday. If that doesn't go well, he won't play against the Lions.

"That's probably a good question for tomorrow," coach Mike McCarthy said when asked if there was concern Grant won't be able to play. "I know Ryan wants to play, and his communication will be that he'll want to play, I'm sure. But once he practices tomorrow, the information from how he feels Saturday morning factors into it, and Pat McKenzie, Ted and I will make a decision."

The good news is that backup Brandon Jackson (concussion) should be cleared this afternoon. Kregg Lumpkin is also ready should Grant not be able to go.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Coaches may decide to rest Grant or at least play him minimally. IF Kregg looks good - Grant will sit.

It will be good to see early if we have a good backup RB. Jax sucks so far. So let's see Kregg. IF he can't do it we can still resign VM or Noah b4 someone else does.

Grant rushed for 92 yards last week against a good rush defense. I'm sure he can play on Sunday unless his hamstring has gotten worse. Especially against a team that doesn't play any defense at all.

All the more reason to give him rest. I don't think he's going to be needed.

So I guess Brandon Jackson punched that bus driver.
Ok, it was a different Brandon Jackson of course.

The more i hear about how Grant couldn't practice during nearly the whole training camp and then McCarthy saying Grant's hamstring was very sore from the Vikings game, the more concerned i am that he could end up suffering a very bad hamstring injury that costs him multiple weeks or even the season.

Even if it hurts our running game this week, i'd sit Grant if the doctors said the extra rest would play a good role in helping heal his hamstring so that each week we and the team aren't stressing that at any time he could pull it so bad that it becomes say a 5-6 week or season ending injury.

We badly need Grant to play in at least most of our games and we are playing a weak opponent. If i was McCarthy, i'd side way more on the side of caution with him than play Ryan hurt and then just cross our fingers hoping that his hamstring doesn't blow up.

The Lions just lost one of their tight ends for the season after he hurt his hamstring in practice and then before it being fully healed, he wrecked it in the game vs the Falcons.

Jackson played well last time we played the Lions. Let him and Lumpy handle the load.
