IMO, the Golden State fan is alluding to the CAVs giving his team 2 first round picks for Jackson and Harrington who are not that happy at Golden State. Jackson resents the Warriors giving Maggette that 10 million contract which could make for a very explosive situation at Golden State given Jackson's temperamental state and his need for that big payday at the age of 32 (after his current contract expires).

Harrington has wanted out for a while from Golden State and has publicly asked for a trade. The guy get's paid like a starter, but his skill set is better for a 6th man role which is kind of expensive for a guy who doesn't like the post that much.

It will be interesting to see how Golden State's gimmicky offense functions this season without a true PG. I suppose that anything is possible like the Mo Williams trade, but some of their fans are stuck to the offensive stat sheet which might be what their front office is about too. As stated previously, the CAVs tried the burning draft pick approach under Jim Paxson and they were hand cuffed by that until this year.

I guess Golden State wishes they had a so-called scrub like Delonte right now. Scoring 10+ ppg and 4.5 apg is not exactly a scrub in my book.

S-Jax would be a nice fit for you guys.
Harrington has a 2 year contract? If so, he doesn't interfere with 2010 plan and he would be a nice 6th man.
It's just that you don't have much to offer to Warriors. They have plenty of young forwards, so Hickson is unnecessary, they have Varejao clone in Turiaf. They might be interested in West or Mo with Monta down, I guess they can only be traded after December 15th.

Mo Will, Snow's deal and 1st for S-Jax and Baby Al might work fine for you.

any trade involving Williams really doesn't make any sense for the Cavs. No way would I do that and toss in a first just to get Jackson and we don't in any way need Harrington.

Some Interesting comments via the PD's Terry Pluto about the CAVs signing of West and acquiring Williams:

Signing Delonte West to a three-year deal worth about $13 million puts the final touch on what the Cavs hope is now a versatile backcourt. They wanted West back because he can play either point or shooting guard, much like newcomer Mo Williams. Last season, both spent about 90 percent at the point, but both also have experience defending some shooting guards. The Cavs rank West well above average on defense, and they believe Williams will improve in that area coming to a defensive team such as the Cavs.

Something that surprised me about West: He shot 43 percent (18 of 42) from 3-point range in 13 playoff games, along with averaging 10.8 points. The Cavs believe his shooting is improving, and they think he and Williams can both bring some speed to the fast break -- the idea being for them to drive the ball up the court and LeBron James to be the finisher rather than the starter of the break.

Why would we trade Mo Williams if we just traded from him?? You gotta think before you come up with ideas like that....

And i dont think anybody indicated that we wanted to trade for sjax or al in this post. The other guy was replying to a post by the other warriors fan talking about how we should give up picks to improve our team.

I like Pluto's assessment. Having versatility with both West and Mo able to play either spot really presents options for the offense. If nothing else it will cut down on Lebron's ballhandling and need to bring up the ball. Putting the two of them together brings a great deal of quickness and off-the-ball movement to play off Lebron, and that also taeks advantage of Z's excellent passing.

IMO this team needs to be done dealing now, until we see what exactly we might need once the season gets rolling. The market is low for everyone right now, no sense in making any moves until injuries or panic set in somewhere.

^I agree..the Cavs big man situation isn't totally settled but they're much better off than they were to begin last season. Z/Wallace/Varejao/Hickson/Wright/Jackson is a huge improvement over Z/Gooden/Dwayne Jones/Newble.

I'm not sold at the SG position but the backcourt does look pretty good as a whole with Mo/Boobie/West/Sasha/Wally/Kinsey all able to rotate minutes.

It would be nice to add another star next to LeBron but they do have ending contracts and future picks to deal if another team decides to panic or cut salary. Not to mention they also have another huge ending contract in Big Ben next year if they don't get anything done with Wally's contract this season. The very worse situation is to just let the big contracts expire and the Cavs themselves can be players in the 2010 free agency market. Ferry's done a remarkable job of managing future cap flexibility after making those bad signings 3 years ago.

I know he can play both SG and SF, but isn't Webster more of a SF?

Delonte West is a scrub...You guys have a great player surrounded by garbage...

Harrington, Jack to Clev for a #1, Wally and Snow...The cavs would take Boston out in 4...Those two are clutch money players...Friggen Delonte West ? I love watching Lebron..I want to see him take 5 titles in a row..But you guys have crap around him.

if those two are "clutch money players" as you say, then why are you trying to trade them to us for expiring contracts and a pick?

and btw you seem really interested in delonte west for some reason - even to the fact that you bumped a thread that hadnt seen action in 8 days

I have no interest in Harrington whatsoever. I just don't see the fit. If Jack is Jackson, I think he'd work for us, I'm not so sure I'd both take on Harrington and add a first. One or the other should work however.

yes harrington expires before 2010. and i'd add a first but that's my preference. i think he sures up our frontcourt a lot allowing AV to get his minutes at C while he plays PF. He could also get a few minutes at SF if Sasha is still crappy. I do admit i'm not paying the bill so i think it would be a financial decision.

if that deal is on the table, we should have done that yesterday imo. but i just dont know why sid the warriors homer up there thinks its a good trade for his team - unless the warriors' owner is cheap and wont pay any kind of luxary tax
