You think the Spurs have another title in them? I definitely think they're capable of beating us in a 7-game series (and would be the favorites, if for no other reason than the fact that they've dominated us for such a long time), but I think we'd put up a better fight than that.

But then again, I thought the Spurs were done the year before last, and we saw how sage a prediction that was...

Believe me, I really hope that doesn't happen. However, the spurs have dominated us for so long (we haven't won in SA for over a decade) and the last time we played them in the playoffs DW was unreal and we still lost 4-1. It seems with any other team the jazz always have a good chance for a win, I don't feel that way when we play the spurs.

I have to agree that I have sinking feeling any time we start a game with the Spurs. I guess we just have to wait until Tim turns 36 or 37.

I have you guys winning your division, I'm not going to go and predict playoff scenarios but I know you guys will be there causing damage. I now you guys have to deal with Blazer fan proclaiming their new found dominance which has risen to another level with Oden's return and all. But in my mind the Jazz still run the Northwest Division until proven other wise.

With Boozer and D-Will coming off the Olympics, and Deron's confidence growing along with his game there was really no off season pick up that was needed. Counting the playoffs and Olympics I really got a chance to watch Deron a lot. His game is so dynamic so powerful for a lead guard. Don't kill me for saying this but I think he can accomplish a lot more then John Stockton did in Utah. He does things John didn't do, yet he'll never be quite the passer that Stock was but on the other hand he's a much better scorer then Stock and drives to the basket more.

And I'm not saying Deron can't be the passer that Stock was, I just think his offense is more valued in the Jazz system now. He still gets a lot of assist anyway. I'll be keeping a close look at your season series with the Blazers, go show them who's running things in that division good luck on the season fellas.

Oddly enough, Stockton and Deron aren't necessarily similar.

Deron's a good pick-and-roll PG and he'll always get very good assist numbers, but you're right. He's more of a scorer than Stock, and not in John's league in passing.

Stockton's game was finding the holes and exploiting them. Deron flat out MAKES the holes. Just a different type of player.

Yeah John was a master at that. No matter who the shooter was Stock was going to him because of what he saw in the defense.

Deron is better at carrying a team
Stock was better at leading them
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

54-28
Northwest Champs
4 seed, 2nd round exit to the Lakers again.

Deron is an All Star, Boozer will not, possibly losing out to Lamarcus Aldridge or Al Jefferson.

Deron finishes 3rd in assists

korver, brewer, memo, booz, ak and D-Will finish with 10+ ppg. Memo, Booz, Brewer and Deron 14+. Nobody on the team averages over 20.

Amazing how many of us thought this would really be the season for the Jazz. Sadly looks like Sheik was the closest, many of his stat predictions were pretty accurate, and even he was way off in the W column.
