Week 2 Start or Sit

Post#1 » by ChronicKerr » Wed Sep 10, 2008 8:43 pm

Okay I'm in a PPR league that gives 1 point per reception, 1 point for 10 rushing/receiving yards, and 6 points per TD.

I need help deciding who to start at flex: Derrick Mason or Julius Jones

Mason is at Houston and Jones is at home versus, SF; both good matchups I think

Maurice Morris is out a few weeks which should allow Julius the vast majority of the carries; i think.

Who should I start based on these league settings?

Believe it or not, i think that SF run defense is pretty strong up front and the secondary is coming along. look at what pitt did to houston's offense.... looks more than suspect to me.

well pittsburgh has a great defense so that is also to blame for houston's less than stellar performance, with morris out and the passing game hurting big time this could be jones' time to shine

flacco looked good in week 1, and san fran, although improving isn't that good yet, but flacco is still a rookie and has to prove himself to me for more than one game

so i think you go with jones this week, should be able to run on houston

I'm leaning towards Jones @ SF to get the start for me. Pitt did tear up Houstons D but they only threw hte ball 14 times. Flacco is still a huge ? in my mind and I think being the big offseason acquisition and the only skill positon player I've ever heard of on their offense that Jones is going to get 20+ touches this week. Anyone else have an opinion?

That's the way I was leaning as well. I'm just worried that Coles isn't building any chemistry with Favre being he's sitting at practice again this week. He's always got that big play ability though so I'll go with him.

QB controversy:
6 pts a TD, no penalty for Ints. 1 pt for every 20 yds passing and every ten completions

McNabb after a stellar week 1 but against the tough Dallas D

or

Palmer after a horrible week one and a good Titan D.

I'm leaning to McNabb

^ I'd stick with Mcnabb until either he get's injured or Palmer stops throwing in the dirt, whatever comes first.

I've got a running back controversy. I can start 2 rb's. Scorting is 6pts/td 1 pt/10yrd & not a ppr league. I have Adrian Peterson (min) he's a lock to start, and I have Michael Turner, Ryan Grants and Chris Johnson. Most analysts leaning towards Grant because of the matchup with Detroit, but I'm concerned about Grant Hammy, and it's hard to sit Turner after last week.

also Todd Heap or Tony Scheffler?

I'd lean toward Turner. Grant has the best matchup, but he hasn't practiced at full speed (or at all, I forget) all week. Turner is facing Tampa, but Brooks is banged up, so that helps his cause.

Tony Romo or Aaron Rodgers. I don't think I can possibly sit Romo but just thought I'd ask.

Willie Parker @ Clev or Chris Johnson @ Cin

Welker @ Jets or Bowe vs Oak

20 points per rushing and passing yards and 1 point per reception.

I'd go Parker and Bowe... I don't know what Cassel is going to bring quite yet and Oakland's secondary got beaten up bad last week and Bowe is certain to see quite a bit of looks. Parker tore it up last week so it'd be hard for me to sit him this week. Cincy is a terrible defense so Johnson is going to have a good game too I think.

I'm in a deep league and having some trouble picking my third running back.

I got Sammy Morris, Ray Rice, and Jerious Norwood. It's a ppr league as well as a 1 per 50 return yards.

heres the thing, with all that freakin talent around him, how can that guy screw up. i mean he cant possibly do that right? if ive got randy moss, welker, nice core of runningbacks, there is just no way to screw that up. and i say this, knowing coach bellichek, he will throw cassell in there and say, F-IT . . . weve been riding with your ass for so long as backup, its time to show us somethin. so the whole playbook is open and the gas pedal pressed all the way down.

pressed into action knowing fully that Mr. playboy himself is no longer around, will either be a SINK or SWIM situation. DO or DIE. time to earn your paycheck.

and i'm going to take a big leap of faith here . . . and say . . . he swims.

longterm? with the success he is going to have this year, he dumps his N.E.contract and signs with another team for big bucks as their starting QB. and then takes a crap over there. but for now, he swims.

i'd go eddie royal... especially in a PPR league.. its its jsut a yards league i'd still go to royal. You'd have to hope for a Hall TD and Pittman got the 2 TD's last week
